Come out around 7:30 and have a really good meal, then have some dessert.
The following blurb is courtesy of your substitute host, the oh so adorable webmeister himself, Mr Mike Horn.

1st : Out of the Vortex 65 pts
2nd : Lionel Richie Has Left Us 59 pts 3rd : Don't Know Jack 58 pts
4th: Large Group of Stupid Monkeys 55 pts
5th: tie between Laffy Taffy and Sex Toys with 50 pts; Laffy Taffy won the alligator tie-breaker and chose "Iowa" as their theme

Sex Toys, Large Group of Stupid Monkeys and Wacky Corner all got the Mensa question right and all three teams donated their money back.

Thanks Mike for an apparent job WELL done. I didn't expect anything less.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Words cannot describe the lunacy at the Barn Door. At 10pm last Monday there were still 85 people in the place playing on 19 total teams and, thanks to the wacked-out "Skirtland" crew, everyone started to sing along with the Rivingtons "Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow". As for the show itself, "Out of the Vortex" ran away with a 13 point drubbing of 2nd place "Lionel Richie Has Left Us" as the 'Richie crew continues to sslloowwllyy creep up on 1st place. Irma, Sue and Katey, the "Three Generations" gang, finished just behind 'Richie in 3rd place. "Map to Nowhere" finished 4th and got NOTHING for their efforts and "Puppet Lint" finally realized their lofty goal of finishing 5th and getting to name the mini-category for this coming week. I am sure that Mike Horn, your guest host this Monday, was thrilled to find out that TV Theme Songs will be the mini-category. For those of you who were not able to make it last Monday you missed an appearance by Tiffany Amber Thiessen.

LAST WEEK'S TOP TEAMS

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

It was a lighter than normal crowd last week here at the Villa Nova West and I am not sure if it was vacations or the fact that people realized they had to rest up for the "Bruiser Intrusion" this week. Taking advantage of the light crowd was "Ex-Wives Suck Cowbell" as they beat a rejuvenated "Holy SWAG" team by 2 points. "Out of the Vortex", the previous week's winner, got stumped on both 3rd round 80s Sci-Fi movie mini-category questions and had to settle for a 3rd place finish. Joel was overheard saying "see, I told you so."

LAST WEEK'S TOP TEAMS

1ST PLACE - 58 POINTS - EX-WIVES SUCK COWBELL

2nd Place - 56 Points - Holy SWAG

3rd Place - 53 Points - Out of the Vortex

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Can you believe it, a tie for 1st place between 2 of the biggest rivals since the Phillies and .....well.....Pequea Valley. "R & R", with Judy and Doc Roc back, tied up the "Ladies Night Out" bunch. No Sally, not that kind of tied up. The "Bar Ks" had another one of their newly patented comebacks and muscled their way into 3rd place. They managed to avoid the 4th place logjam that saw "Crimson Tide", the "Fighting Mongooses" and "Out of the Vortex" all share in the futility of getting absolutely NOTHING for 4th place. The mini-category selection honor for this week fell on the very surprised 7th place team of "Thorns-n-Roses" and they chose Notre Dame Football for this Thursday's show. By the way, Karen once again took credit for the "Bar Ks" continued success. As a matter of fact, it was really Jen's knowledge of Texas Hold-Em poker that gave them the lift.

LAST WEEK'S TOP TEAMS

1ST PLACE - 61 POINTS - R & R

1ST PLACE - 61 POINTS - LADIES NIGHT OUT

3rd Place - 56 Points - Bar Ks

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

I continue to be stunned at the attendance at this show. All 3 of my shows are doing very well but this show here at the Barn Door has greatly exceeded all expectations. Last week we packed a total of 19 teams into the 'Door and it almost burst at the seams. "Linuscratchitt" kept "Lionel Richie Has Left Us" and "Out of the Vortex" out of the top spot with a 3 point victory and "Puppet Lint" continued their streak of 4th place finishes. "Large Group of Stupid Monkeys", leaders after 2 rounds, took it on the chin (or was that head) when they mistook Czechoslovakia's Bobby Abreu for Poland's Jose Canseco. You had to be there.

LAST WEEK'S TOP TEAMS

1ST PLACE - 66 POINTS - LINUSCRATCHITT

2nd Place - 63 Points - Out of the Vortex

2nd Place - 63 Points - Lionel Richie Has Left Us

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Even though "Out of the Vortex" had one of it's lower scoring nights it was still enough to take 1st place for the 2nd straight week but it was a struggle. The 'Vortex held off "MB Express" (one of their better 3rd rounds), "Jomama" (also one of their better 3rd rounds) and "Now I'm An Independent Cowbell" (NOT one of their better 3rd rounds) who all tied for 2nd place. "Holy SWAG" (with only the vixens Natalie and Kathy playing) were only 5 points farther back in 5th place without all of their teammates. Hmmmm! Maybe Natalie and Kathy AREN'T the weak spots. Well.....at least not Kathy.....or is it Natalie. Ouch, now I have a headache.

LAST WEEK'S TOP TEAMS

1ST PLACE - 54 POINTS - OUT OF THE VORTEX

2nd Place - 52 Points - Now I'm An Independent Cowbell

2nd Place - 52 Points - Jomama

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

The trivia world was shocked last week when the "Crimson Tide" (with Kevin jumping ship on his Penn Manor Quiz Bowl team) won the night thanks to their own mini-category selection of University of Alabama football. Just as shocking....."Thorns-n-Roses" (2nd overall) had a huge 3rd round and managed to hold off the equally brainy "R & R" and the "Cheeseballs" who finished in a 3rd place tie. "Wrecked 'Um" finished 5th but neglected to select a mini-category for this week so that honor fell to the 6th place "Bar Ks" team; and they selected Texas Hold-em for this Thursday's mini-category. Karen once again took credit for the "Bar Ks" success.

LAST WEEK'S TOP TEAMS

1ST PLACE - 63 POINTS - CRIMSON TIDE

2nd Place - 61 Points - Thorns-n-Roses

3rd Place - 58 Points - R & R
