WELCOME TO THE
BILLY WARMTH TRIVIA SHOW

My sincerest apologies but time constraints this past week do not allow me time to really "do up" a good blurb for the shows. I will be providing every team at each show with updated tournament standings this coming week and, as a gesture of good will to all for my inability to produce that normally TERRIFIC reading material you get from me every week, I am now going to divulge this coming week's mini-categories.

Here Goes!

Monday - Barn Door - Sean Connery
Tuesday - Annie Baileys - Herbs & Spices
Thursday - Crossgates - Dinosaurs (no it's not about "Out of the Vortex")

Last Week's Blurbage

NEWSFLASH
"Out of the Vortex" has their hands full!

With Fall 2006 champions "Lionel Richie Has Left Us' stumbling out of the gate you might think that "Out of the Vortex" might now be the odds-on favorite to win the Spring 2007 Trivia Challenge Tournament here at the Barn Door. Yes, I realize that there are only 2 weeks complete in this 9 week contest but the geeks from 'Vortex pride themselves on getting a quick start and then cruising to victory. When that does not happen they tend to struggle. This might be one of those times. They head into week 3 with a small 5 point lead over the upstart team of "Baked Curve Ball Muffins" (formerly "Common Sense"). Kim's 'Muffins (pun intended) look really good so far, especially after winning last week's 2nd round.

In a truly scary development, the Katie inspired "Just Dumb Luck" has moved into 3rd place overall and they did it on a night when Bob couldn't make it to the show. Hmmmmm! It does make you wonder!

The really goofy "4 Skins" (golf reference I hope) are sitting in 4th place while the struggling FORMER CHAMPS, "Lionel Richie Has Left US" are floundering in 5th place with "Just Bonin' Up" and "Wacky Corner" nipping at their heels.
Meanwhile, back at the Home For The Wayward, "KCCC" is doing their very best to beat "Billy's Padded D-Cups" and "Don't Know Jack" backwards to that oh-so-desirable 10th place spot.

The final night of the tournament will be Monday, April 30th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize.

The top 6 teams cash prizes will be:
1st Place - $100
2nd Place - $85
3rd Place - $65
4th Place - $50
5th Place - $40
6th Place - $30

Tournament Update

&

Last Week's Blurbage

So far the growth has been slow here at Annie Baileys but, hopefully, the tournament will get more people out. After 2 weeks, the well rested (took a year off) gang from "Hey Now" has an early 4 point lead over "S S Millersville" with "Puppet Lint" just 1 point further back in 3rd place. Puppet leader Tony claims that his team will surprise everyone and walk away with the torunament. Hey Tony, and the rest of you, don't look back. "Out of the Vortex" came back from a dreadful opening night and won last week's show to pull within 10 points of 1st place. It is anybody's guess at this point who will wind up on top of the trivia heap but my bet is on "Hey Now" as long as Barb makes it out to the show to help the girls because if they have to depend on Rod and Brian.....well.....all bets are off. A big hearty welcome goes out to "Team Mimi" of Barn Door fame. Their schedule has changed temporarily and they will be visiting us here at Annie Baileys for a while.

The final night of the tournament will be Tuesday, May 1st, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize. Bribery is, of course, completely........!

The top 6 teams cash prizes will be:

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

"Ladies Night Out" went completely nuts last week and romped into the overall lead after 3 weeks of our Spring 2007 Trivia Challenge Tournament here at Crossgates. "Out of the Vortex" had a particularly bad night and dropped into 2nd place with "Off Duty" maintaining 3rd place.

In an unlikely twist, "Thorns-n-Roses" finds themselves in 4th place overall and I think their heads might explode if they actually try to keep up this pace that they certainly are not used to. Close behind the 'Roses is the once feared "R & R" in 5th place. "Crimson Tide" has managed to stay in the hunt for one of the top 6 money positions. They are currently tied for 6th place with our Fall 2006 winners the "Bar Ks". What has happened to the "Bar Ks" nobody knows but I did receive an email message from Karen's twin sister Sharon in which she extends her condolences for the rough start her sister's team is having. Sharon thinks it's Jack's fault. Actually, Amanda thinks it's Tom's fault. Apparently there is plenty of blame to go around but I am sure the "Bar Ks" will right their ship soon. If they don't, "Team Tom", or even the "Fighting Mongooses", will move ahead of them. How tramatic will that be.

The final night of the tournament will be Thursday, April 26th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize.

The top 6 teams cash prizes will be:

Tournament Update
&
Last Week's Blurbage

Well, we opened our 2nd annual Spring Trivia Challenge here at the Barn Door last week and it turned out to be a very close opening night. Thirteen teams came out and the top 6 teams finished with an 8 point total separation. Leading the way was that group of middle-aged geeks from "Out of the Vortex".....well.....some of them are well beyond the middle-aged thing but who is counting. "Just Bonin' Up", that team of young geeks, (NOT 'Vortex eligible), have made it known that they intend to bring 'Vortex to their knees and they finished 2nd on opening night. "Lionel Richie Has Left Us", the 2006 Fall champions, finished in 3rd place but vowed to make it back-to-back tournament titles. That won't happen if Sean doesn't become more helpful than he has been of late.

The interesting tidbit of the night happened in the picture round. I actually got a little evil on the gang and had a pic of MY eyes in the round. Guess what.....only 2 teams got it. Many teams thought that my eyes were those of Al Gore's. Here is the funny (or humiliating) part. Neither my dad's team ("Short People") nor my wife's team ('Vortex) figured out that they were my eyes. OUCH!

Meanwhile, "Wacky Corner" had another one of their now patented "who can we blame this one on" night's when they crashed and burned in the final round after leading the way thru the first 2 rounds. The 'Corner is now on an early tournament mission to trade members to another team. Rumor has it that they want to trade Bob to "Just Dumb Luck" for BOB but both Bob's have a no-trade clause. Hey Steph, I think they are now looking at trading you to "Don't Know Jack" for Becky.

Brian's team of misfits (you remember "Billy's ????? Underwear" from the Fall tournament) definitely has started providing us with more STRANGE team names (check out the 4th place team) and Kookie Cori of "KCCC" (that's what the KC really stands for) has already provided her teammates with more STRANGE answers.

The final night of the tournament will be Monday, April 30th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize. "Wacky Corner's" Stephanie was the grand prize winner in our 2006 Fall tournament and walked away with a Kodak digital camera and printer dock. Never mind the fact that she lives next to me, paid me cash, took me to dinner and.......! Shhhhhh, Margie and my Dad still don't know.

The top 6 teams cash prizes will be:
1st Place - $100
2nd Place - $85
3rd Place - $65
4th Place - $50
5th Place - $40
6th Place - $30

Last Week's Blurbage

Like the Monday night Barn Door show, last week's show was the opening night of our Spring 2007 Trivia Challenge here at Annie Baileys and it proved to be a good night. 39 players on 7 teams came out only to watch "Hey Now" take them apart in their opening night romp to victory. Rod tried to take credit but we all know it was Barb and Cathy that made the difference. Let's see if they can keep it up.

In a TOTAL SURPRISE, "S S Millersville" also had a big night and finished 2nd just ahead of "Puppet Lint". Tony said the 'Lint people would have done much better if Lisa had been more help than what she apparently was. To that, Lisa's eyes rolled back in her head and she started screaming at Tony in her native Klingon language.

We welcomed back Mark and his "Pitt Stop" crew after a LONG absence as they finished in 4th place. That was good enough to put them in front of the "Army of Northern Virginia". The 'Army, on one of it's mystery visits, tied for 5th place overall with the multi-degreed, multi-disfunctional "Out of the Vortex". It was NOT a good night for Margie and her minions.

The final night of the tournament will be Tuesday, May 1st, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize. Bribery is, of course, completely........!

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

The 6th annual Spring Trivia Challenge here at Celis Clubhouse @ Crossgates is now in the books and "Out of the Vortex" and "Ladies Night Out" are already threatening to run away with this 9-week event. They have both opened up a 20-plus point lead over 3rd place "Off Duty' who themselves now have to guard against the teams right behind them. That would not have been a problem had it not been for the fact that "Off Duty" completely collapsed last week. Sara initially blamed their poor performance on her fighting off a cold but then she very quietly told me her teammates didn't help much either. I promised her I wouldn't repeat that to ANYONE. Uh-oh!

That poor showing allowed "R&R", "Crimson Tide", "Thorns & Roses", the "Bar Ks" and even "Team Tom" to, at least in these early stages, stay close to 3rd place. 10 points separates 3rd place "Off Duty" from 8th place "Team Tom" at this point in the tournament. I am sure most of those teams will be up to the challenge.....well.....maybe not "Thorns & Roses" but they sure do have fun.

The final night of the tournament will be Thursday, April 26th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize. The "Bar Ks" Jan was the grand prize winner in our 2006 Fall tournament and walked away with a Kodak digital camera and printer dock. In very similar circumstances to the Fall tournament at the Barn Door, never mind the fact that Jan paid me cash, paid for my golf, took me to dinner and.......! Once again.....Shhhhhh!

The top 6 teams cash prizes will be:

Tournament Update
&
Last Week's Blurbage

Last week's show was the final tune-up for the Barn Door's 2nd annual Spring Trivia Challenge. "Out of the Vortex", that group of middle-aged geeks, ripped everyone apart for their 2nd straight win and pretty much claimed that they are the team to beat. I am sure that "Wacky Corner" (with or without Phil) will have something to say about that, as will "Just Dumb Luck" and "Just Bonin' Up". The jury is still out on "Common Sense" and "Don't Know Jack". I am certain that Brian's team of misfits (you remember "Billy's ????? Underwear" from the Fall tournament) will provide us with more STRANGE team names and "KCCCCCCCCCC" will most likely provide us with more STRANGE answers (Cori is a little kookie that way). The truly unknown force is the "Short People" (you guys should all know Lefty and Carol by now).

DANGER - Which show's tournament will the much-feared "Lionel Richie Has Left Us" show up at?

All bets are off until we know that answer!

Tournament Update

&

Last Week's Blurbage

Like the Monday night's Barn Door show, last week's show was the final tune-up for Annie Bailey's 1st annual Spring Trivia Challenge. In a SCARY statement, "S S Millersville" actually won last week and, as far as 3rd place "Todd's Beer Wenches" were concerned, that was a good thing. No, there were no sightings of Martha Stewart. Those goofs from the 'Ville have the 'Wenches support because, to qoute Todd, "If we don't win, we would rather see those youngins' we taught at Millersville win than see their grandparents on the 'Vortex win." OUCH! Them seem like fightin' words! The unknown elements in this entire mix will be whether or not "Hey Now" can meet the challenge, will "Laffy Taffy" pose a threat and, to repeat the Monday night comment.....

DANGER - Which show's tournament will the much-feared "Lionel Richie Has Left Us" show up at?

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

The tournaments have officially begun with the 6th annual Spring Trivia Challenge here at Celis Clubhouse @ Crossgates. Can the "Bar Ks" win just like they did in the Fall tournament? As you may recall, the Jen-inspired (she paid me for that) "Bar Ks" led from wire to wire. Can they do it again.? That question has already been answered. Although they had a really good opening night the 'Ks had to settle for a 4th place tie with "R & R" behind "Out of the Vortex", "Ladies Night Out" and "Off Duty". For the 'Vortex, well, what can you say other than the fact that they have SO MANY MORE YEARS of experience and knowledge to draw from than most other teams. "Ladies Night Out", as well as the rest of us, suffered but endured the return of Bruiser to the show and "Off Duty", in trying to improve on their 6th place Fall finish, wound up in 3rd place. After the show, Sara took complete credit for how well "Off Duty" did. We even saw "Team Tom" return to the show and finish the night in 6th place.

1st Place - $100
2nd Place - $85
3rd Place - $65
4th Place - $50
5th Place - $40
6th Place - $30
