NEWSFLASH!
Tournament Concludes Monday Night
"Out of the Vortex" Well In Front
"Wacky Corner" Moves Into 3rd

With "Out of the Vortex" pretty much sewing up 1st place and "Lionel Richie Has Left Us" holding a 34 point 2nd place margin, the real question is "who will finish 3rd?"

Last Monday night we saw the "Wacky Corner" gain their only 1st place weekly finish for the 2007 Spring tournament but it was large enough (74 Points) to vault them into 3rd place overall with a tiny 4 point edge over 4th place "4 Skins". The entire 'Corner agreed that it was because Stephanie has FINALLY started to "put out" (answers) and Chad is the happiest of all of them.

"Billy's Some-Kinda Bra", meanwhile, is trying to hold onto 5th place with only a 9 point lead over "Just Bonin'Up". If either of those teams stumbles badly, and I do mean BADLY, on the final night, "Just Dumb Luck" is waiting in the wings to overtake them.

The final night of the tournament will be Monday, April 30th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize.

The top 6 teams cash prizes will be:
1st Place - $100
2nd Place - $85
3rd Place - $65
4th Place - $50
5th Place - $40
6th Place - $30

"Pitt Stop" Shows Up...AND WINS
'Vortex Knocking On Winner's Door
"Puppet Lint" In 2nd By 1 Point
"Hey, We're Not That BRITE" Dumped To 3rd Place
(Nazli & Chris Are No-Shows)
"Hey Now" Plummets Along With The 'Ville

With the finale of our inaugural Trivia Challenge tournament here at Annie Baileys on the horizon, "Out of the Vortex" has pretty much sewn up the victory but take a look at 2nd place. "Puppet Lint" has made an UNBELIEVABLE push into 2nd place overall and they are going into the final week of the 2007 Spring tournament here at Annie Baileys with the slimmest of 1 point leads over "Hey, We're Not that BRITE."

Two things need to be mentioned here. First - "Puppet Lint" has seen a dramatic shift in their fortunes ever since Rich and Cindy have returened to the Trivia Battlefront. As a matter of fact Cindy claims that she, and NOT Lisa, is the reason the 'Lint people have done so well recently. To make matters even more interesting, Lisa and Tony's daughter Angela has stated that she will be out this Tuesday for the final tournament night to make certain that "Puppet Lint" gets the 2nd place spot. Angela, in strict confidence, told me that the old people on the team need some young blood to make sure they keep "Hey, We're Not That BRITE" at bay. That Lisa and Cindy jello wrestling thing is looking more and more like the REAL show of the tournament.

Secondly, speaking of the 'BRITE (NOT) people, the general consensus last week was that they would have done better if Nazli and Chris had shown up to help them out but, apparently, Chris had a hair appointment and Nazli went with him. Their team was really bummed out. Also, it was discovered that Todd (of meteorology fame) could not put up enough of a fight over the Gulf of Tonkin and he was overruled. Ooooops!

"Hey Now" still remains an outside threat to the 2nd and 3rd place teams but, with only Rod showing up last week, it was, and will continue to be, a struggle. Nothing personal Rod, you still have "S S Millersville" beat.

The final night of the tournament will be Tuesday, May 1st, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize. Bribery is, of course, completely........!

The top 6 teams cash prizes will be:

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Bring Sweaters, We Will Probably Be On The Deck
"Ladies Night Out" Runs Away With Tournament Victory
"Off Duty" Nearly Does The Unthinkable
"Bar Ks" Jan Wins Grand Prize - AGAIN
Bruiser.....&%#$@*&

Last week here at Celi's @ Crossgates the WalMart inspired gang (Hi John) from "Ladies Night Out" held a 1 point lead over "Out of the Vortex" at the start of the final night of the Spring 2007 tournament. At the conclusion the 'Ladies (and their guys) ran away from the 'Vortex and cruised to a 20 point victory. The Vulcans (Keith, Scott, Barbara and Peter) from the 'Vortex were quick to point out that Marjorie, Karen, Michelle and Billy could not show up and that is why they lost. Hmmmm, I wonder.

If that final night rout wasn't nearly humiliating enough, "Off Duty" (one of many "lobby lunatic teams") almost caught the 'Vortex for 2nd place as Sarah proclaimed "Vortex Is Dead"!

The "Bar Ks" finished the tournament in 4th place by holding off a feisty "R & R" team that refused to give up. The "Bar Ks" were the Fall 2006 tournament champions and, had it not been for a few tough early weeks in the tournament they might have repeated as champs. They can, however, find solace in the fact that they have the single luckiest person on planet earth on their team. In last Fall's tournament the lovely Jan Kitner won the Kodak Digital Camera Grand Prize. On Thursday night she did it AGAIN and won the Grand Prize. This time it was a 30-gig Apple I-Pod. And, before anyone hollers "it's fixed", Clubhouse owner Celinet drew the winning ticket in front of all of you. Jan is just that lucky. I think I will have her go to Atlantic City with me the next time I go. Hey, John.....let's talk.....but don't tell Margie.

"Crimson Tide" (Roll Tide) finished the tournament in the 6th and final money position and, even though Kevin wanted to take credit, I am pretty sure that special guest educators Maricia and Peggy, I mean Catherine Bell, were the ones that came through in the clutch. They certainly did not want Assistant Principal Scott to get any credit.

On the other end of the top 10, "Thorns and Roses" snored their way into 7th place with the "Fighting Mongooses" finishing 8th. The big story at the bottom of the pack, of course, was the way "Just The 18th" managed to hold off "Team Tom" for 9th place. Dawn particularly enjoyed holding off a team that hadn't shown up since the 3rd week. Once again, I understand that Lindsey beat her up in the parking lot after the show.

NEWSFLASH!
Two Weeks To Go in Tournament
"Out of the Vortex" Still Leading
3rd Thru 6th - 19 Point Separation

While "Out of the Vortex" is doing "just enough" to maintain their large tournament lead over the Fall 2006 champions "Lionel Richie Has Left Us", it seems that "Wacky Corner is doing "just enough" to give away their chosen 3rd place spot to that dastardly "4 Skins" group over weirdos. Chad complained to me (in private, of course) that if Stephanie doesn't start "puttin' out" (more info) the 'Corner is in danger of not only NOT finishing in their customary 3rd place spot but they might NOT even finish in the top 6 places. The 'Corner has fallen into 4th place overall and, with 2 weeks to go, they are only 14 and 15 points ahead of "Billy's Some-Kinda Bra" and "Just Bonin' Up" respectively.

The birthday-girl Sue inspired "Just Dumb Luck" and the Kim inspired "Baked Curve Ball Muffins" also could surprise everyone if they have a LATE tournament run.

Ninth place "Don't Know Jack" has had some off weeks (I think they miss the Platinum Princess) and they now have to keep their eye on the FEARLESS "KCCC" who is trying their best to protect that 10th place spot. Karen, Cori and the gang from "KCCC" have finished in 8th place in the last 2 tournaments and they want to break that boring habit so they are now shooting for 10th. Good luck ladies in your quest.

The final night of the tournament will be Monday, April 30th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize.

'Vortex Widens Lead
"Hey, We're Not That BRITE" Marches Into 2nd Place
(Nazli Takes Credit)
"Puppet Lint" Drops "Hey Now" to 4th

With 2 weeks to go in our inaugural Trivia Challenge tournament here at Annie Baileys, "Out of the Vortex" has pretty much sewn up the victory (even with Angela breaking her MIDDLE finger) but take a look at the battle for 2nd thru 4th place.

"Hey, We're Not That BRITE", after a VERY SLOW tournament start, has steadily been moving up the charts and they now find themselves in 2nd place and Nazli is taking all of the credit. Her boy-toy Chris wanted to take some of the credit but Nazli quickly put him in his place and then she had to stare down Jean and Lynn as both Todds sat nearby with amused expressions. Dave (Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave) was last seen running for the exit.

Meanwhile, the 'BRITE team should not giggle just yet. "Puppet Lint" has closed to within 8 points of that 2nd place spot and, even though they had a tough night and dropped a few spots, "Hey Now" is still very much in the mix just 2 points further back in 4th place. Please take note that "Puppet Lint" saw their 1st weekly tournament win last Tuesday. I wonder if it had ANYTHING to do with the fact that Rich and Cindy showed up! The 'Lint's Lisa and Cindy promised to Jello wrestle if they finish 2nd in the tournament. It was a good night for me.

The final night of the tournament will be Tuesday, May 1st, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize. Bribery is, of course, completely........!

Tournament Finale Coming Up

"Ladies Night Out" Lead at 1 Point
"Bar Ks" Close Gap on "Off Duty"
Bruiser.....&%#$@*&

Last week here at Celi's @ Crossgates was the biggest night of the tournament and, with the finale upcoming, you should expect an equally large turnout so get there early because I do intend to start ON-TIME, especially since the "Bar Ks" Karen will be visiting her evil twin Sharon in California. Luv Ya Both! Remember, I will also extend the show until about 10:20pm in order to recalculate all of the scores and give out the tournament prizes. Those of you who need to should set your VCR/DVD/TIVO/TRAINED CHIMP/WHATEVER right now because you won't get home in time to see your favorite shows.

As all of you know by now, "Ladies Night Out" and "Out of the Vortex" are involved in another epic struggle for the title of Trivia Champions here at tCrossgates. That being said, I want to discuss the battle shaping up behind those 2 groups of supergeeks.

The "Bar Ks" won last week and they have very NOISILY moved to within 4 points of "Off Duy's" once comfy 3rd place spot. The "Bar Ks" will still have to do well just to protect 4th place. If they have one of their now famous meltdowns, "R & R" is only 14 points back in 5th place. Could the "Bar Ks" actually overtake "Off Duty" this final week and claim that 3rd place prize. Jack seems to think so. As a matter of fact, knowing that Jack's wife Karen will be in California, most of the team thinks that they now have a real shot at that 3rd place spot. Hey Karen, what do they mean by that.

On the other end of the top 10, "Just The 18th" is doing their very best to keep "Team Tom" from dropping them into 10th place. Of course you have to realize that "Team Tom" hasn't been out for the past 5 weeks but Dawn continues to worry. Dawn should worry more about Lindsey beating her up again in the parking lot after the show for thinking that a no-show team that is 173 points behind them could pass them on the final night. Well.....wait a minute.....they do have Carson and Rob on their team.

The final night of the tournament will be Thursday, April 26th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize.

Three Weeks To Go in Tournament
"Out of the Vortex" Lead Widens
"Wacky Corner" Moves Into 3rd

With their 3rd straight weekly victory, "Out of the Vortex" has widened their tournament lead and they are marching toward the Spirng 2007 championship here at the Barn Door. Of course, you have to realize that some of them have been around so long that they have personal knowledge of even the most ancient of things (Big Bang.....). Even 2nd place "Lionel Richie Has Left Us", that formidable group of much younger GEEKS, can no longer keep 'Vortex in sight. Now all the 'Richie folk have to do is make sure that they don't tank with 3 weeks to go and allow "Wacky Corner" to claim the 2nd spot.....or, even worse.....see the "4 Skins" freaks move up as well.

Meanwhile, towards the bottom of the pack, the "Baked Curve Ball Muffins" fell on hard times last Monday as their backward slide continues. They now find themselves in that epic battle for 10th place with "Don't know Jack" and "KCCC". Even "Just Dumb Luck" has moved ahead of Kim's 'Muffins. Oh, I just love to say that.

The final night of the tournament will be Monday, April 30th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize.

'Vortex Gets Blown Out - Maintains Lead
2nd Place in Jeopardy for "Hey Now"
"Puppet Lint" Drops "S S Millersville" to 5th

Ignore the fact that "Out of the Vortex", even though they got blown out last week, continues to lead the tournament here at Annie Baileys by double digits and concentrate on the contest brewing for 2nd place overall. Our 2nd night downstairs on the main floor saw some fireworks from "Hey, We're Not That BRITE" as they moved to within 1 point of 2nd place "Hey Now" with their 1st weekly win in the Spring 2007 tournament. Apparently they had some help from an unusual source as "visiting Doctors" (of the PhD variety) Chris and Nazli took complete credit for the HUGE victory by the 'BRITE people.

"Puppet Lint" is also showing some teeth as they moved into 4th place overall and THEY are only 17 points out of 2nd place. Lisa, of course, is taking total credit for the 'Lint's current improvement.

The final night of the tournament will be Tuesday, May 1st, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize. Bribery is, of course, completely........!

The top 6 teams cash prizes will be:
1st Place - $100
2nd Place - $85

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Welcome Back Pam
Welcome Back Jerry and Rennie
Bruiser.....&%#$@*&

With the 'rents back last week I know you are curious to find out if "Off Duty" had another good night since they did so well the week before without them. Well, they didn't finish 1st but they did a great job by finishing 3rd and maintained their lead over the 4th place team of the "Bar Ks".

As a matter of fact, last week may have been one of the most boring nights in the history of trivia. Now hold on before you go absolutely nuts with the "HOW DARE HE CALL US BORING" stuff. I meant that in the kindest of non-Don Imus ways. We had a HUGE crowd, we had a vibrant crowd, all 5 of the top teams in the tournament finished the week in their repsective tournament positions and "Thorns-n-Roses" fell asleep as usual. AND, NOTHING changed in relationship to the tournament leaderboard. Although some positions got a little tighter, no teams changed positions and that has never happened before.

There was one exciting thing to report though. "Just the 18th" had one of their best rounds in their trivia lives as they aced the 2nd round and found themselves, MOMENTARILY, in 1st place.....then came the final round. Dawn took all of the credit for that 2nd round effort and then Lindsey beat her up in the parking lot after the show.

The final night of the tournament will be Thursday, April 26th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize.

The top 6 teams cash prizes will be:
1st Place - $100

NEWSFLASH
"Out of the Vortex" Stretches Lead!
Fickle "Wacky Corner" Moves UP!
3th Thru 8th Separated By 12 Points

While "Out of the Vortex" continues to widen their lead over 2nd place "Lionel Richie Has Left Us", the truly fickle "Wacky Corner" has done ANOTHER about face and climbed into a 3rd place tie with the "4 Skins". From week to week you just never know which team is going to show up for the 'Corner although they have shown marked improvement since Ed and Natalie have returned. Well, at least with Natalie they have. Stephanie and Chad still are not too sure about Ed.

The "Baked Curve Ball Muffins", formerly 3rd.....then 4th, now find themselves in 5th place and they continue to spiral backwards. If they are not careful they may soon be overtaken by "Billy's some-kinda-bra People" or "Just Bonin' Up", both of whom also seem to be fighting for that "I want to be LAST" spot. That might not be possible, however, because we are all pretty sure that "KCCCCCCCCC", tired of being 8th, is coveting that last place spot. If that happens it looks like "Just Dumb Luck" and "Don't Know Jack" have their places NEAR the bottom pretty much secured. Katie is looking to play on a different team over the rest of the Spring and thru the Summer.

The final night of the tournament will be Monday, April 30th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize.

Last Week's Blurbage

Our first night downstairs on the main floor seems to have gone quite well as 9 teams (3 new) joined us. I can't wait until the weather warms up and we also have access to the back patio.

A big welcome goes out to Susan Adams from the Intercourse Canning Company (www.intercoursecanning.com). Susan and Jackie joined us and had such a good time they said that they would be back with more people. It seems that Susan's father is a big trivia buff. The rest of you have now been put on notice.

As for the tournament, it seems that there will be no denying "Out of the Vortex" the win in the inaugural tournament here at Annie Baileys. The Vulcans.....I mean the 'Vortex.....went completely nuts last week in winning their 4th in a row and they have increased their tournament lead to 34 points over the Barb inspired group from "Hey Now". Barb's team is 12 points ahead of the 3rd place team of "Hey, We're Not That Brite" (Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave). The not-so-'Brite gang, in-turn, appears to be in a battle for their tournament lives with "S S Millersville" but looks can be deceiving. The 'Ville is slowly slipping backwards and they are about to be passed by the likes of "Puppet Lint". Oh man, get out the Prozac and put away the sharp implements if that happens, especially if the 'Lint people's youngins' (Tony Jr and Angela) come out. Those are the nights when they seem to do their best. Angela has been quoted as saying "mom and dad aren't that good without us." UH OH!

The final night of the tournament will be Tuesday, May 1st, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize. Bribery is, of course, completely........!

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

"Off Duty" had their best night to date last week and they have very NOISILY moved closer to the tournaments top 2 teams and they did it WITHOUT the parents in tow. Hmmmmmm!

It seems that "Ladies Night Out" and "Out of the Vortex" (now separated by 1 tiny point) thought they had the top of the trivia mountain all to themselves. What a difference a week makes.

Meanwhile, speaking of what a difference a week makes, "Crimson Tide", after their previous week's 1st place tie with the 'Vortex, saw their fortunes change as they dropped back to 6th place. The 'Tide is very much still in the hunt but they have now brought "Thorns-n-Roses" into the mix. This is something that Jerry and the gang from the 'Roses are simply not used to as they are usually fighting to finishing 10th. Now they are looking at possibly winning some cash with 3 weeks to go and I am not sure they can handle the pressure. I think I will ask LEMSA to have a crew standing by on that final week of the tournament just in case.

Another epic struggle seems to be between "Just the 18th" and.....well.....themselves. Last week they turned in a STUNNING performance and finished 6th for the night They surprised even themselves although Rob took complete credit for the team's sudden good fortune. Lindsey also pointed out that her dad wasn't there either and perhaps that is why they did so much better. AHHHHHHH!

The final night of the tournament will be Thursday, April 26th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize.

NEWSFLASH
"Out of the Vortex" Stretches Lead!
"Wacky Corner" Backing Up!
3rd Thru 7th Separated By 10 Points

"Lionel Richie Has Left Us" is doing their very best to stay within reach of the top spot but "Out of the Vortex" is gathering momentum as we head into Hump Week of our Spring 2007 9-Week Trivia Challenge here at the Barn Door. Both of those teams seem to be pretty secure in their battle for 1st and 2nd place. The real fun is shaping up behind them where, with 5 weeks to go, 5 teams are separated by 10 points in the battle for the 3rd thru 6th money positions. One of those teams will most likely finish in 7th place and out of the bucks.

Meanwhile, "Just Dumb Luck", "Don't Know Jack" and "KCCCCCCCCCCC" are all trying their very best to finish in that "oh-so-sought-after" 10th place spot. Can they slow down their death spiral into oblivion? If they don't watch out, the newly formed, 2-week old, ladies from Scotland ("Saucey Ladies") will overtake one, two or all 3 of them. Won't that be an embarrassing thing.

The final night of the tournament will be Monday, April 30th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize.

Last Week's Blurbage

So far the growth continues to be slow here at Annie Baileys and there is a big possibility that we will be moving the show to the main floor this coming week. Rob and Nick feel that this might boost attendance by enticing the dinner crowd to stick around and enjoy the show. Check when you come in to see if we are upstairs or downstairs.

As for the show itself, and Annie Baileys inaugural tournament, those retirement challenged, mostly Vulcan, geeks from "Out of the Vortex" have opened up a 16 point lead over "Hey Now". "S S Millersville" has slid to 3rd place and they are in danger of being overtaken by the Dave inspired "Hey, We're Not That Brite" (Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave). Both Todd's thought it was all about THEM. HA!

"Puppet Lint" is fighting to stay in contact with the leaders but it looks like a mighty uphill fight as we move into Hump Week. Can they recover in time? Tony says it is possible but only if Lisa starts to help out. He can't do it all by himself. OUCH!

Last Thursday it was FINALLY "Crimson Tide's" turn to rise to the top of the heap. ROLL TIDE! It was ironic that John Valori was NOT there to help out.....or have we discovered something interesting in that fact. The 'Tide managed to tie "Out of the Vortex" for 1st place at last week's show and they vaulted themselves ahead of "Thorns-n-Roses" AND "R & R" into 5th place overall in our Spring 2007 tournament here at Crossgates. The 'Tide is now threatening "Off Duty" AND the "Bar Ks" for 3rd place with 4 weeks remaining in our 9-week challenge. Can they pull off the unthinkable?

Meanwhile, at the top of the leaderboard, "Out of the Vortex" has forged a tie with "Ladies Night Out" for 1st place and, with 4 weeks to go, all bets are off as to who will win. Neither of them should get too comfy. Just a few weeks back our Fall champions, the "Bar Ks", were struggling so badly that (because of the men not helping out) Karen, Jan, Jen and Amanda were considering trading the guys for Bruiser. Just how low they are willing to go. They would be better off just getting completely trashed and not know what's happening. I still think that the "Bar Ks" are a serious threat to repeat as Champions.

Meanwhile, speaking of just having fun, Lindsey and her wackos from "Just the 18th" are doing their very best to hold off "Team Tom" for 9th place even though "Team Tom" hasn't been out for the last 2 weeks. Can they do it?

The final night of the tournament will be Thursday, April 26th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize.

The top 6 teams cash prizes will be:
1st Place - $100
2nd Place - $85
3rd Place - $65
4th Place - $50
5th Place - $40
