Last Week's Blurbage

This is really unbelievable. Don't get me wrong because I am thrilled but we came close to having to put people out in the parking lot last week. This crowd just continues to hunger for this show like a baby does for a bottle of milk. Hey, the analogy could have been somewhat "different", knowing me. We welcomed Kim, Stefan, Mike and Chris back from the defunct Villa Nova West show as well as the "3 Amigas". We also had a visit from the Paris Hilton fan club and they actually won the night. Brian has been so distraught about Paris' situation that he thought a conjugal visit was needed. His teammates wanted to slap him silly.

"Wacky Corner", threatening to revolt after I made a final round scoring error that wound up dropping them into 2nd place. I don't know why they complained.....they usually finish 3rd. Speaking of 3rd place, "Common Sense" managed to forge a tie with "Don't Know Jack". This was the best finish for both of these teams since the Eisenhower administration. Kim (of the "Common Sense" variety) insisted she would have done better if Bill had listened to her.

You notice that I did not mention "Out of the Vortex" .... well ..... until now. That's because they finished 5th, 12 points back but they did get to choose the mini-category for Monday night (see below).

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

I know this seems like deja vu but ..... Wow, another good night here at Celis @ Crossgates and the crowd included a number of virgins ..... of the trivia variety. It was a low scoring night, probably because I had more time on my hands than usual. With a less than stellar 3rd round, at least for them, "Out of the Vortex" left the door open but nobody wanted to take advantage of it so the geeks from the 'Vortex managed to win wire to wire. That was a marked improvement for them from the week before when they managed to implode with the lowest score in the history of trivia. Can you say Bill Buckner!

Finishing 2nd, 6 points back, was the gang from "Ladies Night Out". Sally was so happy to be sitting inside last week that she had to have oxygen brought in. Pam had to smack her back to reality.

The always scary (in more ways than one) wierdos from "Off Duty" finished 3rd with the "Bar Ks" once again finishing 4th. They seem to be growing accustomed to that worthless, get nothing spot. You can all thank "Scrapple" aka "Greasy Gopher Guts" for this week's mini-category here at Crossgates. That category can be found below. Good luck, you will need it.

Last Week's Blurbage

Thanks so much to our webmeister Mike Horn for filling in for me last week while I journeyed to the lovely states of New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Although the end of Tropical Storm Barry was relentless with it's bands of rain, Margie and I got to see my nephew Alex graduate from high school and we had lobster on the coast. All in all a good 4+ days. Now I am back and prepared to once again hammer your brains into oblivion. Mike has provided me with the results from last Monday night. Congrats go out to that team of geeks from "Out of the Vortex" and I am checking into a possible scoring change that may affect the 2nd through 6th place teams. In the meantime, your mini-category for this Monday night will be "Boy Scout Merit Badges". Say what....."we don't need no stinking badges!" Thanks again Mike for a job well done.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Wow, another good night here at Celis @ Crossgates. The deck was, once again, full all the way out to the end. The steroid enhanced "Off Duty" went nuts and took the 1st place gift certificate and the "R & R" gang actually showed signs of life with their 2nd place finish. "Ladies Night Out" was forced into 3rd place with the "Bar Ks" 4th. Karen said it was Jack's fault, Jan said it was John's fault and Tom looked like a deer caught in headlights.....at least Amanda thought so. Happy birthday to Kenny (bless you Holly).

Last Week's Blurbage

I hope all of you had a wonderful Memorial Day holiday. We did not have a show last week so I do not have a blurb but I would like to say that you should take the time to find a veteran, shake his or her hand and thank them for keeping all of us as safe as possible.

As for the upcoming Monday night show (June 4th), the very talented Mike Horn, the webmeister for earthtrivia.com, will be filling in for me while I spend some time in southern New Hampshire with Margie's family. Nephew Alex is graduating from Andover High School (Andover, Mass) on Monday and we will be in attendance when he recieves his diploma and then is cast out into the cruel world to help save money for his younger brother Justin's future college needs .

Please come out Monday night to the Barn Door with LOTS of friends and inmates and enjoy Mike's really tough picture round and his "Trashbag of Deeee-lite". I will return mid-week just in time for my Thursday show at Crossgates. Get your team together now and come out to support Mike.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Wow, great night last Thursday here at Celis @ Crossgates. The deck was full all the way out to the end and, with "Off Duty" growing to a huge 16 people, we needed every bit of that space out there for them. We also welcomed back former "Red Hatter" Queen Paula and her family and the every-other-week golfing group from Millersville University. This time they had around 25 and 4 of them managed to stay the whole show which is amazing since most of them really need their rest. Hi Francine!

As for the show, "Ladies Night Out" withstood strong challenges from "Out of the Vortex" and the "Bar Ks" to win the top prize. I must point out that the "Bar Ks" had one of their strongest nights in quite some time and Jack was even there this time. Curiously, Jen, Lou and Shayna were the absent regulars. I wonder if there is a connection.

On a non-show note of GREAT SIGNIFICANCE, and speaking of the "Bar Ks", Karen Eckert had a HOLE-IN-ONE on the par-3 3rd hole at Crossgates during her round on Thursday before coming in to play trivia. Karen is a pretty good golfer but this was a first for her. Congratulations Karen. See you guys Thursday night.
