Last Week's Blurbage

Thansk once again for filling up the barn Door on Monday nights. I believe last Monday was a historic night. It has been nearly 5 years that I have had a team go perfect for an entire show and it has not yet happened at the Barn Door in the nearly 2 years doing this show. I also do not believe I have ever had a team ace the final round. That streak was broken last week but not by whom you might think. Although "Out of the Vortex" did get 10 out of 11 correct in that 3rd round (truly an amazing feat), they were bested by the "Wacky Corner" who had a perfect final round and broke the tie they had with 'Vortex and "Don't know Jack" after 2 rounds. Stephanie, Chad, Phil and Lori you may kindly take your bows. Finishing 3rd last week was the cursed Cowbell team, "Jeff's on Sabbatical Cowbell". The cursed part comes from the fact that it doesn't seem to matter how well they do, the 'Cowbell always seems to finish right behind those ubergeeks from the' Vortex. Stefan hates that team. It is his wish that just once 'Vortex would go INTO the Vortex. Finishing 4th was "The 3 No-shows" (Brian and most of his harem) and 5th place went to the Adam inspired "Just Dumb Luck".

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

19 teams, 139 people, it must be a Thursday night at Crossgates. Yep, I keep wondering just how many people this deck can hold. We are getting very close to that magical 150 mark and with school back in session this week at Millersville University I see no reason why we won't get there in the next couple of shows. A group of 26, mostly freshman, took up residence deep out on the deck but, alas, they just were not prepared for the mayhem that these trivia shows do to human brain cells. It was a low scoring night with the "Fighting Mongooses" finishing at the top of the heap, one point better than "R & R". A scoring error was noted after the show ended and the 'Mongi will be awarded their 1st place prize this week. Thanks Sean for pointing out you did indeed know that Verdi wrote Aida. Third place wound up being "Ladies Night Out" (welcome back Nette) led by none other than the fabulous Pam. Matt said Bruiser was absolutely no help once again. You guys better trade him before the tournament starts. Talk to "Team Terrible". I undertsand Rob is looking to dump Dawn or is possibly looking for a replacement for Carson. Speaking of "Team Terrible" (formerly "Just the 18th") we welcomed Dawn's daughter and former team member Carli (?) as our newest server here at Celis. Thanks for a job well done. The rest of the top teams were pretty bunched up. As a matter of fact the top 7 teams were separated by a total of 8 points. I know you will wonder when you look at the scores for the top teams, "where were "Out of the Vortex" and the "Tickets"? Well, the 'Vortex completely imploded after being attacked by a group of Vietnam era fighter jets and the "Tickets", even with the lovely Pam, Melanie and a bunch of boy toys present, just could not come up with enough correct answers to get their PSSA score up to a winning standard.

Last Week's Blurbage

Upon my return last week to my shows I was confronted with shouts of "Kill Bruiser" and "Jumbles Suck". Imagine my confusion when I also heard people moan and grown when I announced that I didn't have any jumbles for them at last weeks shows. Oh, you guys are so fickle. I want to thank Bruiser for the fine job he did filling in for me while I was on vacation. As far as the show goes, it seems as if "Out of the Vortex" is out for blood. With the Fall 2007 Tournaments on the horizon for both shows, those bloodthirsty ubergeeeks from the 'Vortex are heating up early. Last Monday night they took apart all competition as they romped to a 12 point victory over the "Rove-less Cowbell" while the once-feared "Wacky Corner" had to settle for a tie for 3rd place with the "J-Men". Shortly after the show the 'Cowbell's Stefan was seen out in the parking lot being whipped by Kim over the hood of a car. Apparently she was upset over his poor performance (At the show, not at home). It was pointed out that he seemed to be enjoying it. The "Wacky Corner, on the other hand, took a totally different avenue in showing their disappointment with a fellow teammate. Bob was told that if he did not start contributing more the team would be forced to replace him with Ryan Howard.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Just like the Barn Door, "Out of the Vortex" seems to be on a mission to avoid the humiliating defeats they have suffered in the last few tournaments. Their mission as I understand it is to not lose to those "girls" (Bruiser and Matt) from "Ladies Night Out" or the "alcoholics" at the bar. I think Keith and Margie are talking about the "Bar Ks"(their ringleader Karen was not able to make it out). Speaking of "Ladies Night Out" a big welcome back goes out to Jordan. Yes "the black guy" returned last week and nearly helped the'Ladies (Bruiser and Mat) pull out a victory. However, the 'Vortex would have none of it as they nearly aced the final round to come from behind and steal the victory away from"Ladies Night Out" and the well rested "R & R" (they wound up tied for 2nd place). It was a narrow 2 point victory and Barbara took complete credit for the win. The "Bar Ks" tied the "Fighting Mongooses" for 4th place last Thursday so there are two announced mini-categories for next week (see below).

WELCOME TO THE
BILLY WARMTH TRIVIA SHOW

Special Notice:

Welcome to all from hot, sticky Atlantic City. the breeze made it a pretty nice day, of course it is ALWAYS breezy on the coast. This weeks blurbs will once again be brief. I have received the standings from Bruiser. Thanks again to one of Manheim Central's finest for doing another splendid job filling in for me while I was away. At least I am presuming he did a splendid job. I did not hear any Fox News alerts that he was tarred and feather for those dastardly jumbles that he had for you. I will see all of you on my return to Monday night's show at the Barn Door.

Bruiser, I understand that the "Wacky Corner" wants to beat you up for those dastardly jumbles. Meanwhile, "Out of the Vortex" is chomping at the bit for the upcoming fall tournament as they again routed all competition last Monday night and Margie wasn't even there; she was on vacation with me. There was a mega-tie for 5th place and we will have 3 unannounced (secret) mini-categories. Check the team standings. The 5th place teams that were tied are the ones you can blame on the night of the show for the goofy category choices. This week they are VERY weird. As if they aren't always!

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

As with the Barn Door the blurb will be brief. We FINALLY had a new team not only break into the top 3 but they actually won the night Last Thursday. Thanks to the estrogen plume billowing out of Joyce's head the "Stupid MOFOs just eeked out a narrow 1 point win over "R & R" while the aged "Out of the Vortex" (especially with Margie away) finished 1 more point farther back in 3rd place. There was a tie for 5th place but don't fear.....the mini-categories this week will be much less weird than the Barn Door's show. there was no mention at all from Bruiser about the "Bar Ks". Were they even there last Thursday? There was a tie for 5th place so there will be 2 secret categories.

WELCOME TO THE
BILLY WARMTH TRIVIA SHOW

Special Notice:

Welcome to all from rainy, dreary Pittsburgh. This weeks blurbs will be brief I forgot to bring along my scoresheets for both show so for each of the shows I will not have scores and standings. Pay close attention to the mini-categories for the upcoming shows. I want all of you to pack both the Barn Door and Crossgates this week just so you can drive my substitute host absolutely nuts. That guest host is non other than the steroid powered Bruiser. Thanks and I will be back next week for my shows. You might be able to catch me on Tuesday night at Mike Horn's show at Bubes Brewery in Mount Joy as I make my way from Pittsburgh to Atlantic City for 4 days. Wednesday i can be available for a lunch date if anyone wants to meet.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

As with the Barn Door all I can recall without my scoresheets is "Ladies Night Out" won in a very close contest over the "Bar Ks". "Out of the Vortex" apparently finished 3rd in what can only be described as another scornig meltdown by yours truly. The wrong teams were warded a 3rd place tie. Oooops! Don't forget to come out to drive Bruiser nuts. Also, as a reminder, this is the Thursday that the large group of MU golfers will be out just before the show starts so govern your timing. Also Bruiser states that he fully intends to start both shows at their appointed times and not a minute later. Right now the "Bar Ks" Karen is jumping up and down cheering Bruiser. I think she wants him. Hey Jack, let's talk! Hey Bruiser, leave Pam alone.
