Last Week's Blurbage

Another good crowd last week as we welcomed back the "Cacophony of Curious Canines". Say what? Yes it was the return of Tony, Lisa, Rich, Cindy, Angela and Kelsey (fromerly known as "Puppet Lint") and they did an excellent job finishing second behind the mighty "Out of the Vortex". The "J-Men" finished a distant 3rd. That was probably because they chose to eat as a team at the tables in the dining room instead of their usual position opposite the 4th place "Wacky Corner" at the bar. Tom tried to stack the deck by trading his lovely daughter Holland for his lovely wife. Didn't work. "Just Dumb Luck" had their streak of 4 straight 4th place finishes broken as Jack Nicholson bested Paul Newman for Oscar nominations. You had to be there for that one.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Last Thursday night was a special night as we welcomed one of Central PA's finest showmen to the show. His name is James Thomas. He is the frontman with the golden pipes from the rock band Leadfoot. They are featured on the cover of January's issue of Pennsylvania Musician magazine. Why do I mention this you ask! Because James Thomas is my highly regarded younger brother. Yes, that guy with the hair down to his ankles, the 22 inch waist and a cool sense of humor is also now an adopted member of last week's winners, the "Stupid MOFOs". He had an option to play on "Out of the Vortex" with Margie and the gang of geeks but then I introduced him to the 'MOFOs Joyce, Tracy and Lisa. When he stopped drooling all over himself he said "I'm playing with them". Yeah, in his dreams. Well, after we put the towels away, the show was on. The ubergeeks from the 'Vortex didn't stand a chance last week, nor did anyone else as the JT(James thomas) infused 'MOFOs were nearly perfect with 'Vortex floundering in 2nd. Surprisingly, the geriatric "Thorns-N-Roses", without the youngins, actually still managed to finish in 3rd place. That is the 2nd week in a row that they have finished in the top 3. The Vegas odds makers were stunned by this and they have asked the Nevada Gaming Commission to open up an investigation. Further back in the pack the "Bar Ks" are concerned about their upcoming tournament hopes as they have lost the help of John and Jan for 3 months. John is serving a consulting sentence in New Jersey and Jan went with him. Conjugal visits are apparently permitted. We also welcomed back "Plebus". Donna and Steve had the lovely Sue and her wacko husband Barry in tow along with Adam and his better half. "Just the 18th's" Dawn was wondering where Zuzu was. John told me I should tell her he had to wash his hair.

WELCOME TO THE
BILLY WARMTH TRIVIA SHOW

Damion Wolfe Appearing at Annie Baileys

Yes, our good friend, Baltimore's own Singer/Songwriter Damion Wolfe makes his debut appearance this week at Annie Baileys in Downtown Lancaster from 8pm to 11pm. Of course he very crazily got a Thursday night gig which, naturally, takes place the same time as my Thursday night show at Crossgates. For those of you who are regulars I hope to see you and for those who are not I hope you can get downtown to see Mr Wolfe. He really is quite talented. Please see the Trivia Partners area at the bottom of this newsletter for the time of his show and check out Annie Baileys website at www.anniebaileysirishpub.com. Take note that the website lists Damion's time as 9pm to 1am so you might want to check with the Pub. Damion is also appearing in downtown York on Friday night at the Harp and Fiddle on North George Street. Apparently Damion is on the Irish pub "gotta do" list. I think Damion thinks he is an accoustic version of U2 or else the new Van Morrison. Seriously, check out damion's website at www.damionwolfe.com. He has been playing at more Irish Pubs than you can imagine. In any case, get out to see him if you can.

Last Week's Blurbage

The anemic level of turnout seems to have turned around as we had 13 teams out last week here at the Barn Door. After getting hammered the last few weeks, "Out of the Vortex" got back into the swing of things with a 9 point victory over the talented "J-Men". The "J-Men" had a 2 week winning streak broken. Another 2 points back was Brian and his gang who, last week, called themselves "Muck My Stick". And, we have a different type of streak going for "Just Dumb Luck". Katie, mom, Aunt Judy, and the grandparents, with little help from brother Adam have now finished 4th for 4 straight weeks. No, you DON'T get a prize for 6 straight 4th place finishes.

Last Week's Blurbage

The Barn Door show returned last week after its 2 week hiatus to an anemic crowd. Maybe I am spoiled but although the bar was completely filled and the back dining room was full, the main dinig room saw only one team, "Out of the Vortex". Perhaps it was that noone wanted to play with the 'Vortex. Oh Well, 9 teams and 45 people still made for a good show. We welcomed back Tara and her loons from "Just Bonin' Up". They didn't do as well as they have in the past but they will get their trivia legs back. Oh yeah, that's their problem. It's not the legs that matter. That brain thing get's them every time. On the show front the "J-Men" romped to victory once again as they beat "Out of the Vortex" and the "Fighting Hookbills" to the finish. "Wacky Corner" suffered from the 3 week layoff, Phil was no help. Good luck Monday night. I hope to see all of you back out in force.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

This show just keepsing steaming along. Another Big night, another big crowd! 15 teams, 120 people and "Ladies Night Out" was once again a complete no show, the "Stupid MOFOs" crashed and burned for a 2nd straight week BUT.....are you all sitting down......We had a shock to the leaderboard last week. Do you remember that one of the teams that the 'MOFOs Joyce wants to have investigated is "Thorns-N-Roses". She believes that their geritol is being "juiced". Well.....THEY WON! Yes you heard that correctly but I am convinced it wasn't the oldies but goodies. I think it was the youngins on their team....led by the return of Christine to help them. Yes they were dancing in the lobby when they found out that they had beaten "Out of the Vortex", "R&R" and the "Bar Ks" with a 9 out of 11 final round. Alcoa Aluminum and the Sago Mine is what set them apart. The "Bar Ks' got caught in a Mousetrap that prevented them from finishing in, at least, 2nd place. A near disastrous 1st round didn't help them either. Hey Shayna....."P. S. I Love You". You had to be there to appreciate that. A Hearty welcome back goes out to "Plebus" as Steve and Donna brought back some of the old gang and.....to the "Stupid MOFOs".....I hope Tracy and Joyce kiss and make up (as Rick and Matt cheer in the background). I think they are both fighting over Lisa and it isn't helping the team.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Another Big night, another big crowd! "Ladies Night Out" was a complete no show, the "Stupid MOFOs" wish that they hadn't shown and the "Bar Ks" were nearly perfect, without Jack......Hmmmmmm! Yes, you read all of that correctly. Pam and Sally are still fighting over their boytoy Bruiser. Lisa's 'MOFOs, after romping to victory for 2 straight weeks, looked more like the Miami Dolphins on their way to getting completely humiliated by the "Bar Ks". Yes, cheers went up around the bar as the Jack-less Karen claimed victory for her teammates. The "Bar Ks" missed only one question the entire evening and had they listened to teammate Lou they would have been perfect. But his lovely mother-in-law, Jan, just didn't believe he could possibly be correct with his answer of Xerox to a question about laser printers. They were seen arguing heatedly in the parking lot after the show. John was tempted to break it up but he was apparently enjoying the shouting match. Meanwhile Karen called Jack and told him they had traded him to the "Stupid MOFOs". When Lisa found out she nearly went ballistic with Joy(ce). They each have a secret crush on Jack. Uh Oh, I hope Rick and Matt didn't hear that. "Out of the Vortex", you know.....the ventilator team, finished 2nd with "Crimson Tide" having one of their best nights in recent memory finishing 3rd. The lovely Elizabeth (with a 'z') took complete credit for the victory. With 15 teams out to the show the "Stupid MOFOs" even got beat by the likes of "Thorns-n-Roses" and "Just the 18th". They even got beaten by our illustrious visitors from the Barn Door, "Just Dumb Luck". Bob and Irma came out with the lovely Katie, Katie's sister Laura and Laura's new boytoy Derek and they had fun even though they were relegated to the lobby with about 40 other people as this show maintains it high fan support.

Upcoming Mini-categories will be:

January 10th: Agatha Christie
January 17th: U S National Parks

See you guys Thursday night.
