ONE WEEK TO GO
Yes it is nearly tournament time as Spring 2008 approaches. Your Spring 2008 9-week tournament at the Barn Door will begin on Monday, March 3rd and conclude on Monday, April 28th. Your 9-week tournament at Celis Clubhouse @ Crossgates will begin on Thursday, March 6th and conclude on Thursday May 1st. I am seeking donors for the big tournament prizes at the end of the tournaments although any donations would be heartily appreciated. I am also planning to have a Trivia World Series/Super Bowl late in the year. Invitations to play will be based on your tournament standings as well as a few at-large entries.

Last Week's Blurbage
Yippie, another 14 teams last Monday night here at the Barn Door as we filled the place once again. With the spring tournament just one week away it looks as though we will have another successful series of full houses to contend with. And, we saw the return last week of the once feared "Puppet Lint" led by the collective daughters Kelsey and Beatles freak Angela. The 'Lint people battled their way into 4th place just one point behind the "J-Men". Defending Fall 2007 tournament champions "Out of the Vortex" finished in first place just 1 point ahead of "Rutherfords Raiders". I think the 'Raiders missed Brian, Dan and Kristina....or.....maybe not. Kim's father Tom is claiming that their recent success is all because of him. "Wacky Corner" got punished into 6th place. I am not sure what the 'Corner's reason was last week because the week before they won handily. They were even beaten by the likes of "Just Dumb Luck". Welcome back to "Laffy Taffy" but Mary Jo was apparently NOT much help according to Leslie. Even "KKC" had a better night and that is truly humiliating. Study up for Human Internal Organs this week in preparation for your tournament that starts one week from Monday.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE
Well, as I returned from my battle with the flu I was immediately struck with the realization that you missed me. For some unknown reason people were coming up to me and asking for my autograph and women were throwing their panties at me. I felt like a rock star. Oh....nevermind....they were all after my brother James Thomas, the true rock star in the family. Jim is the frontman for Leadfoot and they are appearing on the 29th at Shanes Tavern in Womelsdorf. Visit their myspace page at www.myspace.com/leadfootrockspa and listen to their cover of Kid Rock's "So Hot". Yes that is my brother on lead vocals. Okay, enough of the icky promotional stuff. Last week here at Crossgates it was a devastating picture round that crushed most teams chances of shining brightly. However, "Off Duty", led by the luscious Sara and the bombastic Jackie (they paid me to say that), came from 8 points back to shock the "Stupid MOFOs". The 'MOFOs were led by that rock star mentioned earlier and lovely Lisa. Joyce, try as she might, just wasn't much help and Rick rolled his eyes all night at her. They needed more beer. Even more shocking was the fact that, after a scoring mishap, the "Better Half" actually finished ahead of "Out of the Vortex" in 3rd place. They will get their 3rd place gift certificate at this week's show.The "Bar Ks", meanwhile, seem to be having a hard time getting their act in gear for the upcoming tournament. Karen and her cannolis (I love saying that) found out that Marscapone wouldn't listen to Ricotta. You had to be there.

Last Week's Blurbage
Wow, 14 teams last Monday night here at the Barn Door. We are regaining our crowd and with the tournament just 2 weeks away this is an excellent sign. As for the show last week, "Wacky Corner" went absolutely berserk and had on of their best scores ever as they claimed their stake to the title of "Tournament Favorite" They beat "Out of the Vortex" by 4 points. The 'Vortex themselves were only 4 points better than "Just Dumb Luck". We saw the return of "Don't Know Jack" from a self imposed month long vacation and "Laffy Taffy" graced us with a guest appearance. "Lionel Richie Hs Left Us" suffered again as they wound up tied for 8th place with "KC". How humiliating is that. Sorry Cori.....Kim's fault. Hey Robin and Kim(different Kim).....Sean said that Carrie can't handle the pressure. The big question is "Will the vivacious Lisa and Angela and their family of "Puppet Lint" make it out Monday night for the Beatles and will "Cowbell" show their faces for the tournament. Hey, what has happened to the "J-Men" lately? Another dismal showing last week and their tournament stock is falling faster than Humpty Dumpty.

No blurb this week, just my heartfelt thanks to our Web-Mike-ster Mike Horn for filling in for me on Valentines day as I recovered from a bout with the flu. I am still stuffed up with the head cold portion of this evil thing but I will return as your host this Thursday night. I did find out that Lew was apparently not much help once again to the Bar Ks, Joyce and Rick returned from California and choked the 'MOFOs into 3rd place....Aramaic hurt them....Tracy's fault....and Claire insists that "R & R" doesn't need Doc and Judy. Hello to all of you trivia faithful. Of all the bad timing possible I have come down with the flu. I am not going to go into detail but let's just say that I feel like I was shot at and missed and sh?t at and hit. I will not be hosting my show tomorrow night but I will be subjecting you to the weirdness of that famous substitute host........let me introduce........Manheim's finest.......BRUISER. Yes, the bad boy from Baron country will be your guest host tomorrow night. Treat him with all the disdain you usually reserve for me. Provided this bump in the road will pass soon I will be back next week with a renewed blood cell count and all the evil questions that go with it. Tomorrow night's mini-category is Flowers and, next week's will be Florida so study up. Your Spring tournament starts in 3 weeks on Thursday March the 6th

Last Week's Blurbage
12 teams and 70 people.....It has been pretty good lately. "Lionel Richie Has Left Us" tried to make a triumphant return but they fell just short of "Out of the Vortex" in their quest for 1st place. Carrie will probably tuck her tail now and hide until the tournament begins in a few weeks. Meanwhile the "J-Men" keep saber rattling as if they are the team to beat, and they just might be. The tournament is a cummulative points total and the "J-Men" have been the most consistent team over the last 8 or 9 weeks so the championship is anyone's guess. Might we see a return of the dastardly "Cowbell". Might we see a return of "Wacky Corner"? Oh yeah, you guys have been showing up......Sorry. Will "Puppet Lint" return to their regulars status? Will "McClanes Militia" ever beat "Just Bonin' Up". Are "Bob's Angels" any match for the rest of the crowd. Will the "Booth" ever have a good final round? Don't know but Tom said Cindy hasn't been much help.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE
The "Stupid MOFOs", without Joyce, Rick, James Thomas and Tracey (not Tracy) won for the 2nd straight week and they have now won 4 out of 6 weeks and they have to be considered the team to beat in the upcoming Spring tournament. Tracy (without the "e') thinks it would be refreshing if the aged geeks from "Out of the Vortex" would go down in a heap of flaming something or other. Speaking of Tracy, Matt said she is a flake and he can't wait until their true leader, Joyce, gets back from Palm Springs. Now Matt could be her husband.....or her brother. I forget which one said that. In the meantime I discovered that Lisa likes massages (Matt provided it) and Melba actually likes hugs if you get her trashed. "Out of the Vortex" finished 2nd as they had 135 people on their team. Margie initially though they would only have 7.....go figure. And, the Bar Ks finished in the top 3 as Karen led the charge. Lou was totally worthless and special guest John wasn't much help either.

The Tournaments Are Coming! Yes it is nearly tournament time as Spring 2008 approaches. Your Spring 2008 9-week tournament at the Barn Door will begin on Monday, March 3rd and conclude on Monday, April 28th. Your 9-week tournament at Celis Clubhouse @ Crossgates will begin on Thursday, March 6th and conclude on Thursday May 1st. I am seeking donors for the big tournament prizes at the end of the tournaments although any donations would be heartily appreciated. I am also planning to have a Trivia World Series/Super Bowl late in the year. Invitations to play will be based on your tournament standings as well as a few at-large entries.

12 teams and 70 people.....It has been pretty good lately. "Lionel Richie Has Left Us" tried to make a triumphant return but they fell just short of "Out of the Vortex" in their quest for 1st place. Carrie will probably tuck her tail now and hide until the tournament begins in a few weeks. Meanwhile the "J-Men" keep saber rattling as if they are the team to beat, and they just might be. The tournament is a cummulative points total and the "J-Men" have been the most consistent team over the last 8 or 9 weeks so the championship is anyone's guess. Might we see a return of the dastardly "Cowbell". Might we see a return of "Wacky Corner"? Oh yeah, you guys have been showing up......Sorry. Will "Puppet Lint" return to their regulars status? Will "McClanes Militia" ever beat "Just Bonin' Up". Are "Bob's Angels" any match for the rest of the crowd. Will the "Booth" ever have a good final round? Don't know but Tom said Cindy hasn't been much help.

Last Week's Blurbage
An even better crowd turned out last week as we filled the bar and nearly filled both dining rooms Kim and Bill brought out a secret weapon (her dad) last week, and the gang from "Off in the Shower" easily handled "Out of the Vortex" in the race to the finish. However, they nearly weren't as fortunate with the "J-Men". They "J-Men" finished only 2 points out of first. As the Spring 2008 tournament approaches, the "J-Men" consider "Out of the Vortex" to be pretenders. "Wacky Corner", after self- destructing in recent weeks, finally made it back to the top 3 as they edged out "Just Bonin' Up" and "Out of the Vortex" who tied for 4th place. 'Bonin's Tahra is wondering where her friend Glenda is hiding. This, of couse, is the same "friend " that she hasn't talked to in about a year. What's up with that. And, it is always a pleasure to see Lisa and Cindy with their hubbies in tow. Hubbies, hobbies, I don't know.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE
Itt was a night of epic proportions last Thursday night as "Out of the Vortex" suffered one of their worst defeats in as long as anyone can remember. The James Thomas and Tracey (not Tracy) inspired "Stupid MOFOs" did what they have been doing on a regular basis here at Celis @ Crossgates and that is going completely berserk in the final round to rout the competition. They were challenged by a couple of Cat's Meow transplants called the "Skunk Werks" but that is where the competition ended. "Off Duty", after 3 weeks of performing horribly inside the clubhouse, returned to their normal seating in the lobby and promptly returned to the top 3. Once again the "Bar Ks" had to suffer in 4th place and I think it was because Jen and Shayna couldn't make it. Lou claims he had to carry the team. The epic part came with the defeat, AGAIN, of the once mighty "Out of the Vortex" who finished 24 points back in 8th place. Yes you read that correctly. It wasn't a typo.....24 points back. Barbara and Bob couldn't make it. They were still recovering from their 3 week trip to Antarctica and all the seal blubber they ate finally got to them. they (Barbara and Peter) were, however, able to make it to the Monday show 3 days earlier on the day of their return and help the 'Vortex lose AGAIN. DOH!. Special Notice to all.....the "Stupid MOFOs will be slightly depleted as the big guns of Joyce and Rick (damn that's funny, you gotta know Joyce) will be vacationing in sunny Southern California while Rick get's to play golf in Palm Springs. The 'MOFOs Tracy (not Tracey) has claimed the team leaders crown for herself in Joyce's absence. Lisa has a serious problem with that so we might see fireworks Thursday. My brother is taking bets on the upcoming catfight.
