LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Oh My God! You guys are sensational. After taking a week off I came back to 138 players on 22 teams and it turned out to be a gorgeous night. I want to thank Bruiser for hosting the show while I got to play and enjoy time with my daughter Heather, her boyfriend Brandon, my brother James Thomas (the 'MOFOs Tracy wants to do him, Michele wants to watch) and my Dad. Dad, you didn't read that. Speaking of the "Stupid MOFOs", believe it or not, they did win. The defending tournament champions were perfect through 2 rounds and almost had a perfect night if it hadn't been for a Greek Bible question that tripped them up. In any case they DID win and Joyce was in a much better frame of mind than the previous week. She got her broom tuned up, swatted Tracy a few times with it and, apparently, threatened to hide Rick's golf clubs from him if her teammates didn't pay more attention to her. You all know it's all about Joyce. "Out of the Vortex" finished in 2nd place just 3 points back in a battle of trivia titans. Third place went, shockingly, to the "Better Half" with Beverly nursing damaged knees while on crutches. She goes in for surgery soon, she may have already had it, and I am sure you will all join me in wishing her good health. Speaking of the "Better Half", the oh-so lovely Sammy has once again taken credit for her teams finish. "Croma" in a bit of craziness of their own, finished 4th. "Croma" hasn't finished in the top 4 since the Kennedy Administration. And finishing 5th was a totally womanless "Off Duty". The guys did pretty well all by themselves. "R & R" however, with Bruiser returning to the player ranks, did not do so well and his teammates are "praying for the return of the old folks." That is a direct quote by the way. I am sure when Doc and Judy get back there will be some explaining to do.

Your Upcoming Mini-categories are:

July 3rd - National Hockey League
July 10th - Alaska
July 17th - Snakes
July 24th - Revolutionary War
July 31st - Math Terms

See you guys Thursday night.

LAST WEEK'S TOP TEAMS

1ST PLACE - 80 Points - Stupid MOFOs
2nd Place - 77 Points - Out of the Vortex
3rd Place - 69 Points - Better Half

WELCOME TO THE
BILLY WARMTH TRIVIA SHOW

Announcements

Another Abbreviated Newsletter This Week

Welcome from Alaska. This will be a shortened blurb this week. I am currently spending time with Heather in Alaska. It is 58 degrees here and raining. Just lovely...........NOT! I don't have much of a write-up this week. I did not bring the Monday results from the Barn Door with me and I can't remember the scores and as for Celis, Bruiser emailed me info so I have the scores. I want to thank all of you who came out this week. I was especially happy because my daughter Heather had heard so much about the show and she was impressed with the size of the crowds. Thanks again to all of you for supporting the shows. Bruiser will once again be hosting one of my shows this week. This time those of you at the Barn Door on Monday night get to suffer through his wacky way of doing things. Sorry for any mental anguish this may cause some of you.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Well I got to spend the night enjoying the show. Well, as much as can be expected with Bruiser as host. There were HUGE changes in what you have become used to as far as scoring. "Out of the Vortex" and, in particlular, "Stupid MOFOs" did not do very well. Joyce was so displeased with her teammates that she had a witch doctor cast evil spells on all of them. It was even more embarrassing for the 'MOFOs when they realized that they even got beat by "Just the 18th". Now that is truly devastating. Newcomers, "Team Gallo", led by the enchanting Erin, 3rd place last week, made it to the top of the leaderboard after just a few short weeks playing. This group of youngins is a force to be fearful of in the trivia world. Another group of upstarts, "The Better Half", with the sensational Sammy, finished 2nd, surprising even themselves. While the 'Vortex DID manage to finish in the Top 3, they were nevertheless ripped up by the top 2 teams.

Your Upcoming Mini-categories are:

June 26th - Law & Order & CSI:NY

See you guys Thursday night.

WELCOME TO THE
BILLY WARMTH TRIVIA SHOW

Announcements

Abbreviated Newsletter This Week

This will be a shortened blurb this week. For some strange reason I have been just a wee bit distracted. For those of you who don't already know, my daughter, Heather Lynn, is flying in from Anchorage, Alaska tomorrow (Fathers Day) to spend a week here so I have been a bit overwhelmed with stuff to do. I haven't seen her in 20 years and I keep telling myself that I am not nervous about the reunion.....yeah, right! I am picking here up at Reagan International tomorrow but I will be back to do my show Monday night at the Barn Door. I have attached a pic of her for those of you who are unable to make it just so you can see my little one. Yes Heather will be joining the you guys at the shows this week. I will be at my Thursday show but Bruiser is hosting. I can tell you now that there will NOT be a picture round Thursday night. Bruiser plans to do a second round with some jumbles, a name the artist question and I have no idea what else. I am letting him do the show without a net so come out and harass the hell out of him.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY

WELCOME TO THE
BILLY WARMTH TRIVIA SHOW

Announcements

RANT OF THE WEEK
Disturbed by Event at Crossgates

Last Thursday night something happened at Crossgates that I was not fully aware of until after the show and I am VERY concerned and upset about it. Apparently there were some words exchanged between members of 2 teams over the use of cell phones and the "F" bomb was dropped more than once. Had this been reported to me by only one person I would have possibly blown it off as a frustrated trivia combatant but I heard the same story from 5 different people, 3 of which were unconnected to either team involved. To save, at this time, the offending team any embarrassment I will use "Team A" and "Team B" as their designations.
Apparently some members of "Team A" got upset because some members of "Team B" were using their cell phones during the show. They were, as reported to me, texting their boyfriends back and forth. Words were exchanged between the two teams and members of "Team B" said to "Team A" "shut up bitches" and "fuc?'n old lady". This is totally unacceptable conduct and will not be tolerated. For Pete's sake folks this is a friendly event and if you have to be like that I suggest you stay home and drink a bottle of laxatives. As for the use of the cell phones, if you have to cheat, which has not been proven, to get answers from someone via the internet or phone, that is really sad. The rule is "NO CELL PHONE USE DURING THE SHOW" and it means exactly that. It is NOT a suggestion, it IS a rule. The only exceptions I make are emergency calls and to the doctors I have in attendance and members of the legal community who may be on call and each of them has always notified me if they are on call and they have the courtesy to take those calls outside. At no time should you have a need to be calling or texting someone yourself. If you have to constantly be texting a boyfriend or girlfriend every 2 and a half minutes you have insecurity issues that need to be dealt with. I am not as upset with the cell phone use as I am the vile language that was used. If it happens again I will have no choice but to publicly humiliate the persons involved and ask you to leave. You DON'T want to challenge me on this. Yes, maybe I should have been more observant, yes, maybe it wasn't any of "Team A's" business but that does NOT excuse the language used. I think it would be appropriate for the offending team members to offer an apology this week, and you know who you are. It is my show and these are my rules. Are we clear on this matter. Thank you for listening.

Last Week's Blurbage

Well, we are getting back to normal after our Memorial Day break. 75 people on 12 teams came out to the Barn Door last weekand a VERY stunning development occurred. No, "Out of the Vortex" didn't lose. As a matter of fact they won quite handily. No, the SHOCK was "KC" finishing 2nd. The trivia world was brought to it's collective knees by this. Karen and Cori, without Kim (the weakest link apparently) stunned everyone by not only finishing 2nd but they actually had the lead after 2 rounds. This is something that they have NEVER done, ANYWHERE. Even more surprised than me was "Cultural Ass Kicking". The newlyweds, Bill and Kim, along with Father Tom, Dan and Brian, had to suffer the humiliation of finishing one point behind "KC" in 3rd place. I know Brian and Dan left in tears because they were in the lead after the first round. A big hearty welcome goes out to "Ubersmack" with special guests Mike Horn and Mary Todd Lincoln (you had to be there). "Ubersmack" is one of Mike Horn's regular teams at his Cafe Chuckles trivia show on Sunday nights and though they are usually in the top 2 at Chuckles, they struggled mightily on Monday and finished 4th just ahead of the troubled "Wacky Corner".

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

OMG, 21 teams, 135 people, it doesn't get much better than this. "Out of the Vortex" outwitted the "Stupid MOFOs" in a battle of trivia titans."R&R" finished well back in 3rd place because of A-Rod being thrown out of the hamlet by Manny Ramirez over his use of Scope instead of Listerine. Yeah, you had to be there to understand that one. A 3-way tie for 4th was forged between the "Bar Ks", the lovely Shayna was back for the 2nd week in a row, "Crimson Tide", the lovely Kelsey joined them and "Off Duty", the lovely Sara was NOT able to be there. Oooops, before she gets her panties in an uproar, the lovely Joyce of the "Stupid MOFOs", likes to see herself mentioned at least once (if not constantly) in my blurb each week. Her teammates Tracy and Lisa think she is a total wack-job. Her husband Rick just rolls his eyes and takes another swig of his beer. Erin thinks they are ALL nuts.

Your Upcoming Mini-categories are:

WELCOME TO THE
BILLY WARMTH TRIVIA SHOW

Welcome to June

Announcements

The mini-categories for June can be found in each shows blurb. The selections were culled from your 2nd round sheets the last few weeks.

Also, debuting Monday night will be a change in the final question of the night. the 31st question will now be worth 20 points and will be a multi-answer question. That will bring the total points for each show to 100.

I will also be debuting an extra Wacky raffle ticket for each team. It will be a different color and, if it is drawn, that team will get to request the answer to any question in that upcoming round BEFORE I ask it, with the exception of the 31st question. If you would have known it anyway.....well.....bring crying towels with you.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Another exceptional night thanks to the full house we had here at Crossgates last Thursday night as we saw 16 teams come out to play. The "Stupid MOFOs" won for the 2nd straight week (Lisa took all of the credit) as they squeeked by the Bob-less "Out of the Vortex". Bob would have been a great help to them since the mini-category was the 17th century (Bob grew up in the 1600s). The "Bar Ks" continued their new trend of finishing 3rd and, believe it or not, they had the ENTIRE team back. Even Jack found some time away from hunting and the sensational Shayna found time away from cheerleading to come out. As for the other 17th Century team, the Ralph inspired "R & R" (the 21st century Bruiser held them back)and "Thorns-n-Roses" (another 17th Century team - the 21st Century Steve and Christina held them back) finished tied for 4th place. A big welcome goes out to "Linuscratchitt" who makes it out to the show now and then. They struggled to a 6th place finish because they didn't have any really old people on their team.

Your Upcoming Mini-categories are:

June 5th - Notre Dame Football
& Beer
June 12th - Special Education
& Songs w/Colors in the Titles
June 19th - Swimming & Survivor
June 26th - Law & Order & CSI:NY

See you guys Thursday night.

This is a beautiful and challenging 18-hole full service public golf course located just south of the Millersville University campus at Shenks Lane and Crossland Pass. Crossgates PGA Pro Scott Vandegrift (MU Golf Team Head Coach) and assistant PGA Pro Scott Fritz are the guys to see. Call 872-4500 or visit the Pro-Shop for info on tee times, rates, lessons or bang a few buckets of balls on the driving range. Men's and Ladies locker rooms and showers are available. Crossgates is a non-metal spikes facility.
