WELCOME TO THE
BILLY WARMTH TRIVIA SHOW
Okay, I am getting back into the groove of hosting my shows. Thanks again for Mike Horn hosting my show on the 12th although his questions tend to be a bit brutal, consider it your finest learning experience.

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS

ANNOUNCEMENT #1

I will be debuting a new show on Thursday nights beginning February 12th. That show will be at the Conestoga Country Club from 7pm to 9pm. Special Thanks to Dawn and her gang from "Just the 18th" for helping put this show together. I will put out more info next week. Because of that show being on Thursday nights the Crossgates show is moving to Wednesday nights. The renovation at Crossgates is scheduled to last thru March and Crossgates is expected to reopen in April. The day is changing but the time remains the same, 8pm to 10pm. I will continue to update you right here as the weeks fly by.

ANNOUNCEMENT#2

I will be hosting a special trivia show to help Mom's House raise money and I have attached a flyer announcing it to this newsletter. Please take time to read it and consider coming out to support this worthy cause. It will be held Saturday night March 7th in the Community Room at the Pheasant Ridge development on Stonemill Road in Manor Township. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided as well as a cash prize for the 1st place team. Cost is $15 per person in advance and team sizes are limited to a maximum of 8 people ($120 per team). Cost is $20 per person the night of the show. Stay tuned for more news on this event.

Last Week's Blurbage

The "J-Men" are starting out the 2009 Trivia Year as if they plan to own it. They led from start to finish and beat "Out of the Vortex" by 5 points and "Just Dumb Luck" by 10 in what has to be considered a lopsided win. "R & R" did their best to get into the top 3 but just missed glory and "Crimson Tide" even showed up again only to suffer from Kevin's lack of help. Mother Jan was equally frustrated that the men on her team weren't putting out, to which Kerry slapped her twice. Then comes the "Wacky Corner", which had only 3 players. The 'Corner was overwhelmed by the "J-Men" who had about 30 players and took up almost the whole bar. Even Jim Miller was a help for a change.

It was a full house for a night of trivia as I subbed for Billy who was lost somewhere on an Alaskan moose-hunt with Sarah Palin. The crowd will probably welcome Billy back with warm arms next week since the questions were even more brain-blasting than normal. 62 points was the high score and a loud cry went up when it was revealed that Out of the Vortex had won by one point (apparently this team inspires passionate outcries on a regular basis). Ubersmack almost beat them, but took second and the Wacky Corner was only two points behind. The J-Men and Prince Harry Is a Wog tied for fourth and the Crossgate refugees R&R and the Crimson Tide tied for sixth. The rest of the crowd will be happy to know that His Rotundness will be back next week, when the theme will be Hawaii. Following are a bunch of pics from the night. Forgive me for forgetting some of the team names. Aloha and thanks for having me!

-Mike

At least Marge is smiling in this picture. She's having her best week ever, after tieing for first at Cafe Chuckles all by her lonesome.

Paul and Deric of Ubersmack recruited Suzie (or was it the other way around?).

Trish and Dawn of Eureka! were shocked that Suzie ditched them.

Here's one half of the bronze-medal winners The Wacky Corner.

And here's a long shot of the other half.
It's Yummy Mummy's biggest fans: Our New Year's Resolution Is to Not Suck as Bad as Usual, But It Looks Like We Failed Miserably. Even though their name was a self-filling prophesy, they still won the grand prize of two pounds of Twizzlers.

R&R displays their favorite mascot (no, not Doc Rock).
This team will be forced to issue an apology for naming themselves Prince Harry Is a Wog.

These ladies took home some min-Oreos from the Trashbag of Dee-lite.

The J-Men did well until the last round. At least they have some Barbie cereal to console them.

Another team eager to have Billy back.

The Humperdincks offered to take my picture (which will not be posted).

Roll, Tide, roll!

Recruiting some newbies didn't help this team.

This team won the first prize from the Trashbag of Deelite: Peanut Butter Tandy Cakes.

The Lucky Charms were not so lucky tonight.

The lady in the center was happy she kept her eyes open.

This team has been around since the Barn first opened its Door.

I believe this was the Young Bucks team. (Or maybe John and Liz?) They ran away in terror from the third round.
Captain Jack was hoping for a tiebreaker.

Welcome from frigid friggin Alaska. It is currently 9:30 on Sunday morning and the sun is just now rising over the Chugach mountain range about 5 miles east of my daughters living room window here in Anchorage. It is 5 degrees below zero and there is about 5 feet of snow on the ground. When I flew in here on Friday night the temperature was -11 and the temperature up in Fairbanks was -55 so enjoy your supposedly "cold" temps. Heather is doing fine and she says hello. No memory, just what she has been told. Don't forget that Earth Trivia ( www.earthtrivia.com ) webMikester Mike Horn is hosting my show on Monday night at the Barn Door. Mike's trashbag of d-lite is something to behold as far as wacky raffle prizes go. I am counting on all of you to come out and hammer him senseless. I will be back for my show next Monday the 19th.

AND

Come out to Cafe Chuckles tonight and enjoy Mike Horn's show. It will give you a sneak peak at his show style for Monday. Margie wil be there so you get to boo the 'Vortex twice in 2 days (tonight and Monday). Call ahead for reservations. Their phone number is 397-3966. See Mike's blog on the earth trivia website for more info and to find out what his mini-category is.

WELCOME TO THE
BILLY WARMTH TRIVIA SHOW

Monday night will be my opening show for 2009 so expect a pretty full house at the Barn Door and get there by 7:30, if you can, to get a good seat, or any seat at all, the Barn Door does not take reservations, and make sure you bring your appetite. I do know that "Croma" plans on making an appearance. Your new mini-categories for January are listed below in the Barn Door blurb.

SPECIAL
Announcement

I will be in Alaska from the 9th to the 18th visiting Heather (she is doing fine, just needs a memory jog I hope) so our illustrious webMIKEster will be hosting the Barn Door show on the 12th. Make sure you come out and harrass him just like you do me and don't forget to boo the 'Vortex. The "J-Men" love when you do that.

Continuing
Announcements

To all of my Crossgates faithful, with Crossgates making major renovations, please join me at the Barn Door on Monday nights. I would love to see you guys there and I miss all of you terribly. So, start coming out on Monday nights. Great food, tremendous service, excellent competition. And, they BOO "Out of the Vortex" as much as you guys do. Also, if the Barn Door lot gets full, please park in the Boro Police Department lot at the top of the Barn Door lot. However, DO NOT park in spots that say police vehicles only. That would be kinda STUPID and I can't fix STUPID. And don't park in the Getty Mart lot, as a matter of fact, continue to do all you can to not spend ANY money there.

Part B

There is a new show coming soon to a venue near you. I will hopefully be debuting a new trivia show at the Conestoga Country Club in early 2009. Yes you read that correctly. The Conestoga Country Club. It will be an evening that the Country Club is going to open to the public, something they rarely do. The Pub and Bar area will be the location and a bar food menu will be available AND in the better weather we will be able to spread out onto the deck. The only difference you will experience between this show and the others is that there WILL be a dress code. Conestoga Country Club does NOT permit denim (Jeans to most of you) so the dress will be business casual. I want to assure you that I intend to make this a fun evening for all of you. Prizes will be gift certificates to the pro shop or something on that order. I have not worked out the details so stay tuned for further updates.
