There have apparently been a number of emails from members of Conestoga, to the Club Manager, questioning the role of non-members at my Thursday night show and due to the size of the crowd already attending the manager has decided to make the show a MEMBERS-ONLY show. You must now be a member or a guest of a member, seated with them at their table to come attend the Thursday night show at the Conestoga Country Club. Good for them as far as attendance and bad for those of you who wanted to come out.

Sorry about that,

Last Week's Blurbage

Well, another good evening here at the Barn Door as 13 teams attempted to bring down "Out of the Vortex" and the "J-Men" did it in what can only be described as a thrashing. They won by 10 points over "R & R" as we welcomed back Doc and Mamma Rock. Even more telling was the fact that the 'Vortex finished 13 points back in 3rd place. As for the "J-Men", Jim Miller ran screaming into the parking lot to escape Dusty's rath this week only to beat himself up. Another psychotic event in the life of Jim. He didn't have to this week because his team won. He apparently wasn't paying attention. Tom Baldridge acknowleged that this is a common problem with former Manor Township supervisors and planners.

Last Week's Blurbage

Well, this was my second show here at the Conestoga Country Club and it was another good evening. We had the ballroom set up and a buffet was available as well as the pub menu. "The Phillies" came from behind to just squeak by the "Dog Pound" who had the night won until they moved the TV show Jericho out of Kansas and into New York. The "Scholars" finished a semi-scholarly 3rd when they drowned in the Coral Sea and Dawn's"Just the 18th", one of Crossgates "finest", playing here as "Nobody Knows Crap", finished 4th and Dawn somehow managed to blame her sister and Julie Englert for their downfall. I am not sure how that happened but it did. Even the lovely Karen drove over from York County to join them. Aren't redheads fun. Hey, be ready kids. Your tournament starts NEXT Thursday night, March 5th. Strap yourselves in and be prepared to be brain tested.

Last Week's Blurbage

I know I keep repeating myself a lot but not much is changing here at the Barn Door, and that is not a bad thing, unless you look at the fact that "Out of the Vortex" completely obliterated all challengers. 'Vortex won by a whopping 15 points over the really weird group from "I See London, I See France, I See Billy Warmth's Skid Marked, Underpants". Yes Brian and his nutcases with the goofy names are back and Congress has threatened an investigation into how a "family friendly" environment has gotten so Al's Diamond Caberet-like. Family Friendly, by the way, has become so misused it's almost nausiating. And yes we had another nearly full house with "Crimson Tide" actually outperforming even THEIR own expectations as they finished 3rd. The "J-Men", "Wacky Corner" and "R & R" were humbled by the 'Vortex and Dusty again beat up Jim Miller in the parking lot for no other reason than she just likes to do that.

Last Week's Blurbage

Wow, I have debuted 7 shows so far since 2001 and this was the BIGGEST opening night to date. We had 78 total people on 15 teams and we filled the dining room. We even had two non-member guest teams. The "Stupid MOFOS" came out and played as the "Verbates" and "Out of the Vortex" came out and played as themselves.......and got booed. Kinda cool for a new place, with, what you would think would be a higher class of crowd but NO. They booed the 'Vortex, with NO prompting from me. Of course the chorus was lead by Dawn's gang from "Just the 18th" who played as "Nobody Knows". Speaking of Dawn, I can't thank her enough for bringing a trivia night proposal to the Club's board and making this entire night possible. Everyone seemed to be pleased and country clubbers can sometimes be tough nuts to crack, but the show was very well received. The food was great and the service was nothing short of spectacular. The "Beach Bums" won the night, outlasting "Out of the Vortex" by 1 point and the "Buddha Beaters" tied for 3rd place with "Arcotiri". Dawns team of misfits did NOT have a good night but they did have fun. Dawn said Rob and J R were to blame (they showed up) as well as Karen, Carson, Kathy and Lindsey.......who, DIDN'T show up. I have a feeling this show is going to be a HUGE success. Thanks to all who came out and........Dawn.......thanks again to you and the entire staff for making this work. Convey my thanks to Mark, the illustrious club manager for helping me out. See you guys next week.

Last Week's Blurbage

I know I repeat myself a lot but not much is changing here at the Barn Door. Another nearly full house and the "J-Men" have been brought back down to Earth as they and everybody else were beaten senseless by the "Effintees". Dusty again pointed out that Jim Miller just isn't carrying the load and she beat him up again in the parking lot. When her husband stepped in to foolishly defend him, she beat him up too. When the police showed up Dusty claimed she had diplomatic immunity so they left. Hmmmmmm! "R&R" finished in 3rd but Doc Rock and Momma Rock will NOT be out this week so I guess we will now get to see what the youngins are made of. And nearly EVERYONE is STILL wondering whatever happened to "Puppet Lint" and "Lionel Richie Has left Us", which they apparently have lived up to their name. Carrie has apparently suffered a traumatic mental breakdown and she is now afraid to go out at night when it is cold. And the Mayo clan from "Puppet Lint" is off to the Mayo clinic to discover the true meaning of Mayonnaise.

Last Week's Blurbage

Another nearly full house as we welcomed "Croma", "R&R" and "Crimson Tide" from my Crossgates show. Special welcome to the lovlie Leslie of "Croma". She hasn't been out to a show since the Spring of 1937 so it was good to see her. The "J-Men" continue to dominate the early stages of the 2009 Trivia Year as if they plan to own it. They hammered everyone last week with an 87 point night and Jim Miller was quick to point out that he and his sidekick, Tom, are the big guns on the team. Dusty beat them both up out in the parking lot after the show as 3 Millersvile Boro police officers looked on and cheered. We had a 3-way tie for 2nd place between "Just Dumb Luck", who had one of their BEST nights EVER, "R&R" and the "Wacky Corner". I forgot to award the 'Corner their shar e of the take so they will be recognized this Monday night for their efforts. "Out of the Vortex" finished well back in 6th place with 67 points and they are certainly struggling early to find wherever it is that they hid their collective teeth. Sam has taken the lead in the investigation. And nearly EVERYONE is wondering whatever happened to "Puppet Lint" and "Lionel Richie Has left Us", which they apparently have lived up to their name.
