Thanks so much to WebMikester extraordinairre Mike Horn and his trashbag of deeelite for filling in for me last week. I took time off to surprise Heather for Father's Day and what a great time it was. Heather is doing miraculously well and I could not have been happier with my trip. So now I am back after my 9,000 mile roundtrip excursion and look out because you all know what the questions are like when I have had extra time to prepared. And you can PROBABLY expect some questions about our 49th state so, be afraid......be VERY afraid. As for last weeks show, I have the results from Mike and it wasn't a good night for "Out of the Vortex". Change that, it was a horrifying night for the 'Vortex. The "J-Men" won the night with the "Final Answer" finishing 2nd. "Crimson Tide" actually finished in the money in 3rd place. This had to come as quite a shock even to them. I have a feeling Chuck finally had some answers that helped. He lets that team down so often. And finishing just out of the money was the "Better Half" and the vivacious Sammy, sorry I missed you sweety. As for the 'Vortex, they finished 17 points back in 8th place. Yes, you read that correctly. Oh my how the mighty have fallen. What happened Sam? Well, I will see you guys Monday night. Hope you enjoyed your week without me but here I come again.

NO BLURBAGE this week. WHY? Because I forgot my materials from last week.

I am having the time of my life. Happy Fathers Day to all, especially ME. My Barn Door show on Monday night will be hosted by none other than webMikester extraordinaire, Mr Mike Horn and his trashbag of deeeelite. Why you ask. Because I am in Anchorage, Alaska. I flew up on Friday to surprise my daughter Heather and what a surprise it was. I thought she was going to pass out. She is doing fine and is as lovely as any precious 21 year old woman can be. I will be returning to Harrisburg Thursday morning in time for my show at the Conestoga Country Club. It is in the mid 50s, cloudy and cool but just gorgeous. Going to the zoo today witrh Heather. As for your shows this week, the only things to report are your mini-categories. Monday nights show will be the National Hockey League and Thursday's show is once again Flowers because of the cancellation 2 weeks ago. To all of you who have expressed your concerns and good wishes about Heather, I can't thank you enough. Be kind to Mike tomorrow night, especially you Bruiser, or as the "J-Men" call you........Boomer.

OMG, what a night here at the Barn Door last week. It was our largest crowd ever and we had to turn some people away. The fire marshall would NOT have been pleased. We had 96 people on 16 total teams and "Out of the Vortex" did NOT win. The winners were the "J-Men" and I find it ironic that on one of their best nights Jim Miller was not among them. Hmmmmmm! The 'Vortex finished second and the "Wacky Corner" finished 3rd.

Really SLOW, LOW attendance night. Three teams and a total of 16 people. "Nobody Knows Crap" was NOWHERE to be found. We gotta get this participation up. Perhaps the nights out by the pool in the coming weeks will help. Reminder, this IS NOT a trivia week coming up, your next night is June 11th. Be prepared because your mini-category is FLOWERS. As for the show last Thursday, the "Dog Pound" actually showed up and stole the show from the "Bubba Group". The "Bubba Group" actually came out our first few weeks and they returned and made a respectable showing. And the Garden Hoes came back and finished in a respectable 3rd place (well.....out of three teams), and probably would have beaten Dawn and her wackjobs......all except for you Rob.

We had our biggest show in quite some time here at the Barn Door last week as we closed out our Spring 2009 Trivia Tournament. 16 teams totalling 83 people showed up. What a night it was. The "J-Men" captured 1st place for the second week in a row but it was too little to late to catch "Out of the Vortex", our Tournament CHAMPIONS. The louder than loud "R&R" finshed in 3rd place overall with the "Wacky Corner" maintaining 4th place. "Crimson Tide" finished 5th but they were really the big winners as they walked away with the GRAND PRIZE which was a 26 inch Westinghouse Flat Screen TV. AJ and his "Purple Sticky Punch" clan finished 6th and almost caught the 'Tide. AND, guess what? YEP, "KC" finished 10th. WooHoo!

Well, we are now on our 2nd and 4th Thursday schedule so we had our first "warm weather" show here at the Conestoga Country Club. Sadly we only had two teams show up. An anemic total of 16 people. I just can't figure that out. A drop off was expected after the tournament but that was ridiculous. You guys gotta do better or this show will be on it's death bed before it has a real chance to get started. As for the participants, "Nobody Knows Crap" won but they were fearful that they might firnish 3rd out of 2 teams playing and they alomost did as the staff, playing in an uncounted role, finished 2nd. Sowing up in the for-real 2nd place was "Triple C" (formerly the "Rejected Puppies"). Even with the SMALL group we certainly did have fun. See you guys in two weeks on the 28th and BRING FRIENDS. Encourage your fellow members to form teams and come out to the show.

The board of directors at the Conestoga Country Club has changed their collective minds about shutting down the show. We will now have a show the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month through the fall. The tournament has just concluded and we will take a week off and return to the club on May 14th and again on the 28th. Stay tuned for any further developments.

Due to a family emergency I am cancelling tonight's show at the Barn Door. Please notify your teammates that there will NOT be a show tonight. Of course I DO encourage you to have dinner at the Barn Door tonight as if I was actually going to be there. Your Spring tournament will be extended an extra week and your final night will now be NEXT Monday night, May, 11th! Sorry about that but..................things happen unexpectedly and ......well.......
