Last Week's Blurbage

No show last Monday due to the Labor Day Holiday. You Fall 2007 tournament starts tomorrow night here at the Barn Door. I had some extra time on my hands and you all know what that means. Yes, the questions are usually quite numbing when that happens. Also, SPECIAL NOTE, I mistakenly used Wyoming as the first mini-category for the Crossgates show on Thursday night. I messed up because that category was meant to be one of the categories for Monday night at the Barn Door. In order to even out the category lists, I will be using one of the Crossgates categories for Monday night.....not that it makes a difference to some of you. My early Las Vegas handicapping shows the oddsmakers declaring "Cowbell" (6-5 odds) as the team to beat since they have FINALLY figured out how to stay with those %#!^$ Ubergeeks from "Out of the Vortex". I am also certain that Steph, Natalie and their boy toys from "Wacky Corner" will be there also, most likely 3rd place. We will have to see how creative Brian and his harem will be with their team names AND will Bob actually be a help to "Just Dumb Luck". Sue kinda shrugged her shoulders and granddaughter Katie giggled. Irma was last seen rolling on the floor in hysterics. I am not sure what all of that means but time will tell. Your Fall 2007 Back Nine Trivia Challenge begins on Monday night September 10th.
Your 10 Mini-categories will be:

Washington Redskins
Botany
Orchestra Instruments
Asian Countries
Bruce Springsteen
Fast Food
Crustaceans
Wyoming(used at Crossgates)
Stock Symbols
Comic Strips

The mini-categories are in no particular order. One of them will be used every week of the tournament and then will be dropped from the list. Since there are 10 listed, the final week of the tournament may or may not include both of the remaining categories. Bribery of the host IS highly encouraged.

GOOD LUCK

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

If it's September It must be Tournament Time. Yes, last Thursday was the beginning of our 6th annual Fall Back Nine Trivia Tournament here at Celis @ Crossgates. The favorite always seems to be "Out of the Vortex" but they seem to get stung every tournament. During the "regular season" the the much hated (I mean feared) 'Vortex wins quite often at the weekly show, then comes tournament time and their brains go on hiatus. Since the Spring of 2005 'Vortex has NOT seen the winner's circle. They have most often fallen prey to "Ladies Night Out". 'LNO has finish first in 3 of the last 4 tournaments and has to be considered the odds on favorite to win again. The only break in their streak was last years Fall tournament in which the "Bar Ks" won. Speaking of the "Bar Ks" can anyone stop Jan from winning yet another grand prize. She has won the last 3 and is shooting for her 4th. Hey Jan, the bribery apparently has been working in your favor. Wanna play "Let's Make a Deal" again? Don't count out the "Stupi MOFOs". Although they stumbled last week in their final tune-up, Joyce and her gang are going to be tough as will "R & R" and last week's winners "Off Duty". Lauren and Jackie have also offered favors. Hey Pam, are you paying attention to all of this. Speaking of bribes....."Crimson Tide".....hey Jan (wink)! Then there comes the angels from Victorias Secret. Yes, I am talking about "Just the 18th". Dawn and her gang of lovelies almost had a collective coronary last Thursday as they tied the 'Vortex for 2nd place. Dawn screamed so loud poor Lindsey is now tone deaf in her right ear. After the show Dawn was run down by a speeding Mercedes in the parking lot. CSI has been called in. The question on everyones mind was "Where were the "Tickets", those fabulous babes from Hambright and their boy toys. Well their teaching obligations may have overwhelmed them early in the school year so who knows. The Millersvile University faculty must not have the same teaching load so they have more time and so they can more easily show up. OUCH! Beth, Melanie.....you will be missed. Of course we always look forward to the classic battle between "Thorns-n-Roses", "Croma" and the "Fighting Mongooses" for that coveted 10th place spot.
Your Fall 2007 Back Nine Trivia Challenge began on Thursday night September 6th.
Your 10 Mini-categories will be:

Geology
MTV
Germany
Alfred Hitchcock
Computer Lingo
Imported Beer
Card Games
Tennis
Australia
Tommy Lee Jones

The mini-categories are in no particular order. One of them will be used every week of the tournament and then will be dropped from the list. Since there are 10 listed, the final week of the tournament may or may not include both of the remaining categories. Bribery of the host IS highly encouraged.

GOOD LUCK
&
See you guys Thursday night.
