Last Week's Blurbage

Well, the Fall 2007 tournaments have concluded and the "Lionel Richie" Collapse is now history. "Out of the Vortex" came from 21 points back 3 weeks ago to complete an unbelievable turnaround to win their 2nd consecutive tournament, preventing 'Richie from returning to the top spot they enjoyed last fall. "Cowbell" did not suffer the same fate. They had been locked in a struggle for 3rd place with Brian's goofy misfits from "Billy's Various Body Parts" but managed to stay 6 points ahead of them when all was said and done. For Brian's team as well as all others in the house last Monday night, the big news had nothing to do with the tournament. At the end of the second round Bill got down on his knee and proposed to Kim. Kim, of course, said yes. Kim is a longtime fan of the show and started coming out many years ago when Curtis was doing the show and I understand that he will be DJing their wedding. Kim and Bill's first date out together was at my trivia show at the Villa Nova West. Congratulations once again to the lovely couple. Now, back to the tournament. "Michigan Man" finished 5th and the "J-Men" had to fend off the "Wacky Corner" for the 6th and final money position. The Grand Prize winner of the $300 gift card from Park City went to, no, not Stephanie, it went to Peter from "Super Geeks". Thanks to all of you for continuing to support the shows. I hope to see all of you back out Monady night.

This Mondays Mini-category is:

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

One week after the conclusion of the Fall 2007 tournament I expected a slump in attendance. That's just the way the trivia world works. Well, surprise, surprise. 85 people on 12 teams showed up. We had to use the lobby for the overflow. We used it all thru the tournament but didn't expect to last Thursday. thanks to all of you for continuing to support this show that is nearing the completion of it's 6th year. As for the show last week, it certainly was a high scoring night.....except for tournament champions "Out of the Vortex". The 'Vortex finished 10th out of 12 teams and the crowd was stunned into joyful disbelief. "R & R" had a perfect final round to capture 1st place with "Off Duty" right on their heels. The "Bar Ks" finally put it together and finished strongly in 3rd place. Karen took all of the credit. "Thorns-n-Roses" was near perfect in the final round and had one of their best nights ever as the geriatrically challenged ones finished in 4th place. "Ladies Night Out" suffered and Pam blamed it all on Bruiser. She said he's just not putting out like he used to. Everyone was wondering where the "Stupid MOFOs" were and I had to tell them that Queen Nutjob Joyce was home taking a much needed nap. She collapsed under the pressure of her teammates not performing up to her standards. The poor girl just couldn't take it. As for "Just the 18th" they had to take the night off to give their collective cleavage a rest after exposure at the Halloween party.

This weeks Mini-category will be:

Washington Redskins

See you guys Thursday night.
