WELCOME TO THE
BILLY WARMTH TRIVIA SHOW

Greetings Earthlings, I am your host, Mr Billy (Buddha Belly) Warmth. I am the purveyor of mirth and madness, causer of brain cell cannibalization, giver of great prizes and the Master of all things trivial, well, next to Curtis Earth that is. Follow me now to the Land of TRIVIA.

GIVE YOURSELVES A BREAK, KEEP THE DISHES AND POTS/PANS IN THE CABINET, SAVE YOUR APPETITES AND COME OUT EARLY FOR SOME GOOD FOOD AND A GOOD SEAT AT THE SHOWS!

IT'S TOURNAMENT TIME

Yep, here we are with the Fall 2006 Back Nine Challenge.

The tournaments run for 9 weeks at each venue and they began with this past Wednesday night's show at the Villa Nova West and Thursday night's show at Crossgates. The Barn Door tournament begins Monday night September 11th which, coincidently, is the 5th anniversary of the most horrific event is U.S. history. Please take a moment to reflect on the events of that tragic day.

Each show maintains the same format you are familiar with as far as the weekly prizes and types of questions but I will also keep a cumulative points total for the 9-week period at each show. Also, just to add another level of frustration, each show during the tournaments will feature 2 questions in each round from 2 mini-categories. Yes, there will be 2 mini-categories per show during the tournaments.

The top 6 teams in total points after the 9 weeks at each show will recieve the following cash prizes respectively.

1st Place - $100
2nd Place - $85
3rd Place - $65
4th Place - $50
5th Place - $40
6th Place - $30

There will also be additional individual prizes and a grand prize at each show.

The mini-categories are listed below with each show but be advised; the list is in no particular order. I will use 2 of them each week. There are 18 mini-categories listed for each show and the only 2 you will be certain of will be the final week of each tournament because the other 16 will have been used. As each show finishes I will drop those 2 mini-categories from each show's list.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Last week was the start of the 5th Annual Fall 2006 Back Nine Trivia Challenge here at the Villa Nova West. "Out of the Vortex" seems to be on a mission that involves punishing all pretenders to the Trivia throne. I have a feeling they are just angry because they haven't been able to do SQUAT at the Barn Door or Crossgates shows. Still, they had to fight off "Crikey Cowbell", "Hot Nuts and Honeys" and "Lebowski" on the opening night of the tournament. The 'Vortex has vowed to not lose this time but they seem to already have their hands full.

LAST WEEK'S TOP TEAMS

1ST PLACE - 61 POINTS - OUT OF THE VORTEX

2nd Place - 59 Points - Crikey Cowbell

3rd Place - 56 Points - Hot Nuts & Honeys

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Can you believe it! The "Bar Ks" have put their own early stamp on winning the Fall tournament here at Crossgates. Led By Jack, John and Lou (Lou told me to say that), the "Bar Ks" left no doubt that they think they are the team to beat. With a 40 point final round they pulled away from "R & R" and "Crimson Tide" and they left the "Assassins" gasping for air well back in 4th place. That is not even the amazing story. The "Bar Ks" have an early tournament lead of 13 points over "Ladies Night Out" (the BMW of trivia) and "Out of the Vortex" (the former BMW, and, most recently, the Edsel of trivia). While rumors about the trivia health of "Ladies Night Out" continue to swirl (Sally hates it on the deck) the big questions on everyone's minds were:
"Hey, can 'Vortex handle yet another tournament defeat?"
"Where are the "Cheeseballs?"
and, most importantly,
"Are the "Bar Ks" for real?"

LAST WEEK'S TOP TEAMS

1ST PLACE - 68 POINTS - The BAR Ks
2nd Place - 61 Points - R & R
3rd Place - 58 Points - Crimson Tide
4th Place - The Assassins
