LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

"Holy Cowbell Billy!" "What was that freight train that just ran us down?" Well "Paulie Shore Sucks (Cowbell)", that was none other than the Bret Hart crazed "D-Generation X" along with the visiting Navy Commander Kara. Thanks to their own mini-category pick from the week before they were able to get 9 out of 11 answers correct in the final round and went from a 9th place position to win and stun the VERY LARGE crowd. Yep, winter always sees a larger increase in the crowds at the shows and last week's trivia crowds maintained that trend. 'Cowbell also did well by sneaking into 2nd place after also being well off the chart after the 2nd round. Third place went to "Cheeks", with the "Hollywood Hippies" and "MB Express" right on their heels. Thanks to all 21 teams that came out to make the first show of 2007 a HUGE success.

LAST WEEK'S TOP TEAMS

1st Place - 66 Points - D-Generation X
2nd Place - 63 Points - Paulie Shore Sucks
3rd Place - 56 Points - Cheeks

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

To echo my comments about crowd size at the Villa Nova West, the same thing took place at Crossgates last Thursday night. Although only 12 teams played (still pretty good) their team numbers were greatly increased and we again had nearly 100 people in the house. "Ladies Night Out", that freakish bunch led by Alice, CRUSHED the competition for their 2nd straight win. The 'Ladies HAD BEEN led by Pam but Alice and Sally, with Dave's help, beat Pam up last week in the parking lot after the show and Alice took over claiming "the coup was successful and Pam will be banished to Florida.....or Serbia for a period of time." Hey, I don't know any more than that but I will try to find out.

"Crimson Tide" finished well back in 2nd place although a mini-battle ensued when they had a tendu-like moment instead of an arabesque one. Ballet can often be a tough topic so I slipped into my tutu and took care of that problem. I hope you weren't eating just now. It has been quite some time since the 'Tide has finished in the top 3.....or anywhere close for that matter.....and Chuck took complete credit for their finish. "Out of the Vortex" was forced into 3rd place when the entire team fell asleep in the 3rd round for the 2nd straight week. It is tough for them to stay awake and alert sometimes.

On the untold-story side (prepositional phrase), rumor has it that the "Bar Ks" are looking to drug and switch Karen with her twin sister Sharon out on the left coast. John said that Jack supposedly likes Sharon better. Oh, this is getting good.

LAST WEEK'S TOP TEAMS

1ST PLACE - 69 Points - Ladies Night Out
2nd Place - 57 Points - Crimson Tide
3rd Place - 52 Points - Out of the Vortex
