NEWSFLASH!
Tournament Concludes Monday Night
"Out of the Vortex" Well In Front
"Wacky Corner" Moves Into 3rd

With "Out of the Vortex" pretty much sewing up 1st place and "Lionel Richie Has Left Us" holding a 34 point 2nd place margin, the real question is "who will finish 3rd?"

Last Monday night we saw the "Wacky Corner" gain their only 1st place weekly finish for the 2007 Spring tournament but it was large enough (74 Points) to vault them into 3rd place overall with a tiny 4 point edge over 4th place "4 Skins". The entire 'Corner agreed that it was because Stephanie has FINALLY started to "put out" (answers) and Chad is the happiest of all of them.

"Billy's Some-Kinda Bra", meanwhile, is trying to hold onto 5th place with only a 9 point lead over "Just Bonin'Up". If either of those teams stumbles badly, and I do mean BADLY, on the final night, "Just Dumb Luck" is waiting in the wings to overtake them.

The final night of the tournament will be Monday, April 30th, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize.

The top 6 teams cash prizes will be:
1st Place - $100
2nd Place - $85
3rd Place - $65
4th Place - $50
5th Place - $40
6th Place - $30

"Pitt Stop" Shows Up...AND WINS
'Vortex Knocking On Winner's Door
"Puppet Lint" In 2nd By 1 Point
"Hey, We're Not That BRITE" Dumped To 3rd Place
(Nazli & Chris Are No-Shows)
"Hey Now" Plummets Along With The 'Ville

With the finale of our inaugural Trivia Challenge tournament here at Annie Baileys on the horizon, "Out of the Vortex" has pretty much sewn up the victory but take a look at 2nd place. "Puppet Lint" has made an UNBELIEVABLE push into 2nd place overall and they are going into the final week of the 2007 Spring tournament here at Annie Baileys with the slimmest of 1 point leads over "Hey, We're Not that BRITE."

Two things need to be mentioned here. First - "Puppet Lint" has seen a dramatic shift in their fortunes ever since Rich and Cindy have returened to the Trivia Battlefront. As a matter of fact Cindy claims that she, and NOT Lisa, is the reason the 'Lint people have done so well recently. To make matters even more interesting, Lisa and Tony's daughter Angela has stated that she will be out this Tuesday for the final tournament night to make certain that "Puppet Lint" gets the 2nd place spot. Angela, in strict confidence, told me that the old people on the team need some young blood to make sure they keep "Hey, We're Not That BRITE" at bay. That Lisa and Cindy jello wrestling thing is looking more and more like the REAL show of the tournament.

Secondly, speaking of the 'BRITE (NOT) people, the general consensus last week was that they would have done better if Nazli and Chris had shown up to help them out but, apparently, Chris had a hair appointment and Nazli went with him. Their team was really bummed out. Also, it was discovered that Todd (of meteorology fame) could not put up enough of a fight over the Gulf of Tonkin and he was overruled. Ooooops!

"Hey Now" still remains an outside threat to the 2nd and 3rd place teams but, with only Rod showing up last week, it was, and will continue to be, a struggle. Nothing personal Rod, you still have "S S Millersville" beat.

The final night of the tournament will be Tuesday, May 1st, and we will award the tournament prizes on that night. The top 6 teams in total points will recieve cash prizes and one lucky person will win a special grand prize. Bribery is, of course, completely........!

The top 6 teams cash prizes will be:
1st Place - $100
2nd Place - $85
3rd Place - $65
4th Place - $50
5th Place - $40
6th Place - $30

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Bring Sweaters, We Will Probably Be On The Deck
"Ladies Night Out" Runs Away With Tournament Victory
"Off Duty" Nearly Does The Unthinkable
"Bar Ks" Jan Wins Grand Prize - AGAIN
Bruiser.....&%#$@*&

Last week here at Celi's @ Crossgates the WalMart inspired gang (Hi John) from "Ladies Night Out" held a 1 point lead over "Out of the Vortex" at the start of the final night of the Spring 2007 tournament. At the conclusion the 'Ladies (and their guys) ran away from the 'Vortex and cruised to a 20 point victory. The Vulcans (Keith, Scott, Barbara and Peter) from the 'Vortex were quick to point out that Marjorie, Karen, Michelle and Billy could not show up and that is why they lost. Hmmmm, I wonder.

If that final night rout wasn't nearly humiliating enough, "Off Duty" (one of many "lobby lunatic teams") almost caught the 'Vortex for 2nd place as Sarah proclaimed "Vortex Is Dead"!

The "Bar Ks" finished the tournament in 4th place by holding off a feisty "R & R" team that refused to give up. The "Bar Ks" were the Fall 2006 tournament champions and, had it not been for a few tough early weeks in the tournament they might have repeated as champs. They can, however, find solace in the fact that they have the single luckiest person on planet earth on their team. In last Fall's tournament the lovely Jan Kitner won the Kodak Digital Camera Grand Prize. On Thursday night she did it AGAIN and won the Grand Prize. This time it was a 30-gig Apple I-Pod. And, before anyone hollers "it's fixed", Clubhouse owner Celinet drew the winning ticket in front of all of you. Jan is just that lucky. I think I will have her go to Atlantic City with me the next time I go. Hey, John.....let's talk.....but don't tell Margie.

"Crimson Tide" (Roll Tide) finished the tournament in the 6th and final money position and, even though Kevin wanted to take credit, I am pretty sure that special guest educators Maricia and Peggy, I mean Catherine Bell, were the ones that came through in the clutch. They certainly did not want Assistant Principal Scott to get any credit.

On the other end of the top 10, "Thorns and Roses" snored their way into 7th place with the "Fighting Mongooses" finishing 8th. The big story at the bottom of the pack, of course, was the way "Just The 18th" managed to hold off "Team Tom" for 9th place. Dawn particularly enjoyed holding off a team that hadn't shown up since the 3rd week. Once again, I understand that Lindsey beat her up in the parking lot after the show.
