Scoring Correction
"Out of the Vortex" Goes Nuts
"Wacky Corner" 3rd Again

Although it did not make a difference to the outcome of the show here at the Barn Door last Monday night there was a question that actually had 2 possible answers. The question in the 2nd round that caused some confusion was "What is the nickname of the sports teams from the University of Hawaii?" I was looking for "Rainbow" and that is correct if I had asked only about the baseball team. The football team is known as the "Warriors" (Rainbow Warriors) and was also acceptable. Although the change did not make a difference in the final scores, I do want to acknowledge that the "Just Plane Stoopid" team also should have gotten credit for a correct answer. Todd (of the Poole variety) apparently is undergoing therapy after believing he let his team down, as he often does.

As for the show itself, "Out of the Vortex" flexed it's geek muscles again and ran away with an 8 point victory over "Lionel Richie Has Left Us". The 'Richie folk, in like fashion, left "Wacky Corner", "Memphis Belles" and "Just Dumb Luck" flapping in the breeze.

In regards to "Wacky Corner" I must note here that Stephanie, Chad and Bob finished in 3rd place WITHOUT the "HELP" of the rest of their teammates who, apparently, weren't even missed. I think we have discovered who the slackers are.

Last week's show here at Annie Baileys was cancelled due to the VERY LOW attendance. Thanks to "Hey Now's" Rod and the "S S Millersville" gang, Keith and Margie from "Out of the Vortex" and 2 of "Puppet Lint" Tony's students ("Those Damn McNamaras") for coming out. We had a good time chatting but not enough to do the show. I hope to see a return to good numbers this Tuesday night.

Parking is available on the street, if you can find it, and in the King Street Parking garage up the ramp next to the convention center site. Parking in the garage is $1 an hour so carpooling is a good way to save a quarter or two.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Karen's Back - "Bar Ks" Triumphant Without Jack
Scoring Correction Knocks "R & R" To 2nd
"Crimson Tide" Cracks Top 3
Bruiser.....&%#$@*&

What a gorgeous night we had last Thursday here at Crossgates. It was a balmy evening on the deck and, although there was the threat of bad weather it didn't show up until after the show. Congratulations to the "Bar Ks" who returned to last Fall's form in winning the night. They were initially tied for 1st place with "R & R" but, after reviewing one of the questions, "R & R" will have to officially settle for 2nd place. Yep, you guys DO get to keep your winnings but I want to correct the error. One of the 3rd round questions was "Who was the youngest player in NBA history to win the MVP award?" I meant the question to be "All-Star" MVP award but I forgot that part. THAT correct answer is Lebron James and it is the one that I accepted but it doesn't fit the question as asked. The correct answer to the question AS ASKED should have been the Baltimore Bullet's Wes Unseld back in 1969. Sorry about any confusion and thanks to Kevin Roak of the "Crimson Tide" for bringing it up after the show.

As for the show, the "Bar Ks" won the night on the strength of Karen's return from visiting her evil twin sister Sharon out on the left coast. By the way KAREN, YOU WERE THE ONE RUNNING LATE this time. How am I supposed to start ontime if you are going to be late?

"R & R", due to the scoring change, is now officially 2nd with "Out of the Vortex", after struggling in the 2nd round, finishing in a 3rd place tie with, non other than, "Crimson Tide". The 'Tide has shown marked improvement in the last few weeks and Kevin's mother Jan is taking ALL of the credit.
