Last Week's Blurbage

It seems as if we have undergone the post tournament blues here at the Barn Door as the crowd level has gone back to our opening days 2 years ago to about 45 people. That's okay but I know we can do better. Last week we had 9 teams and "Out of the Vortex" showed why they are the reigning champs. The 'Vortex was near perfect with an 80 point night. the only thing that tripped them up was Lightning McQueen from the movie cars which they wrote as "Speed" McQueen. They were that close to perfect. The "Wacky Corner, without Chad, finished in 2nd place (hmmmmmm) and the J-Men finished in 3rd place after their protest on a question about juvenile and adult frogs and toads was rejected. It was later determined that they were indeed correct and in the finest of game show traditions (compensation) they have been invited back to this weeks show. "KC" with Kim in tow this week had one of their best 3rd rounds in memory but still finished way off the pace to which Cori yelled out "bite me Billy" as she was leaving. Can't you just feel the love sometimes.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Hey, our 1st show back after our Thanksgiving break was a huge success as we welcomed 14 teams and 115 people back to Crossgates. Some of them would like to kill me because of a disastrous picture round. Allen Ginsburg somehow morphed into Salmon Rushdie for many and Adloph Coors became John D Rockefeller. Most teams got less than 5 out of 10 and each round ended with a name the artist question that also stumped most. It was the most fun I have had in a long time. "Off Duty" took control and won by a whopping 13 points over the "Bar Ks". Once again Jack was missing and supposedly hunting. "R&R" was another 2 points back in 3rd place. The crowd went absolutely nuts when it was announced that "Out of the Vortex" finished in 4th place and out of the money. The "Stupid MOFOs" Joyce was heard shouting "take that you PhDs". Of course her team finished 6th. They would have finished much higher had they listened to teammate Lisa on a few answers. Lisa, Tracy and the vampiress (chipped her tooth) wacko Joyce were seen pulling each others hair in the lobby after the show as Rick (with a hole in his neck from where Joyce bit him) stayed inside the clubhouse watching the Cowboys beat the Packers. Joyce's daughter Erin and son Tyler just looked on in stunned amazement as mom totally lost her mind. I was assured that it was a short trip. WooHoo! How 'bout dem Cowboys!

Upcoming Mini-categories will be:

December 6th: Horse Racing
December 13th: Art and Artists
December 20th: Math
December 27th: Disney Movies

See you guys Thursday night.
