Last Week's Blurbage

Another good night here at the Barn Door as we have now completed 4 weeks of our 9-week Fall 2008 tournament and "Out of the Vortex" has widened their lead to 26 points over the new 2nd place team of the "Wacky Corner". Last weeks 2nd place team of the loons from "Phobics and Phobias" have dropped 1 point further behind into third place. Meanwhile, the pretenders to the throne, the "J-Men", are again, just 1 point behind 3rd place. The oh-so-lovely Zoe has her team, "Don't Know Jack", solidly in 5th place and, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, "KC" is actually not only still in the top 10, they are holding onto 6th place in headlock fashion. Karen and Cori have managed to figure a way out of the basement, much to Kim's chagrin. Kim prefers it on the bottom. Who has fallen behind "KC" in a humiliating fashion; why, "Bob's Angels" and ............. uh oh ............. the Katie inspired "Just Dumb Luck". Her entire team was ill last week and they have now fallen backwards into 8th place overall and we only have 9 teams regularly playing. I have a feeling it is all Bob's fault!

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Slumping attendance and chilly weather couldn't keep us from having fun last week. It was our 7th annual halloween show and MOSTLY everyone came out dressed in costume....well.....except for your tournament leaders, the "Stupid MOFOs". The very casually dressed 'MOFOs were led by super vixen Tracy who was out again to harass yours truly. She just thrives on being noticed. It's a blond thing. Joyce, of course, had her teeth sharpened for Halloween and Bird had another one of those, "this is really weird", nights. "R & R" has moved 3 points ahead of the repirator gang from "Out of the Vortex" for 2nd place overall and the "Bar Ks" fell a little farther back due to Karen and Jan's lackluster performance. I am pretty sure Jack and John were referring to trivia when they told me that . As for the Halloween show, the winners of the costume contest (no it wasn't the 'MOFOs) was the team of German sympathisers from "All Dressed Up and No One to Invade". The "Muppets Take Millersville" came out dressed as characters from Sesame Street (Burt, Ernie, Miss Piggy, the Swedish Chef and, my personal favorite, Animal and his drumsticks), they also had along their manager and human muppet, Derek. "R & Rs" Ralph and Judy came out dressed as plummeting IRAs and "Croma" invited Dominos Pizza, some cat people, a 60s teenager and a Mexican hooker to the show. Hey, "Just teh 18th" and "Off Duty", WHERE WERE YOU? Thanks again for making my 7th annual Halloween show a really fun evening.

This is a beautiful and challenging 18-hole full service public golf course located just south of the Millersville University campus at Shenks Lane and Crossland Pass. Crossgates PGA Pro Scott Fritz is the guy to see. Call 872-4500 or visit the Pro-Shop for info on tee times, rates, lessons or bang a few buckets of balls on the driving range. Men's and Ladies locker rooms and showers are available. Crossgates is a non-metal spikes facility.
