Well, the final week is here for the Fall 2008 tournament at Celi's.

To ALL of you at BOTH shows, a kind reminder....Cell Phone use is STRICTLY PROHIBITTED during the show. If you need to use a phone your team MUST turn in the answer sheet before you use it and your round will be considered complete.

Crossgates is planning a major renovation in the next few months so stay tuned for further notice on the suspension of your trivia show.

Here we are heading into the final 4 weeks of our Fall 2008 tournament here at the Barn Door and "Out of the Vortex" is running away from all other pretenders to the throne. The 'Vortex has won ALL 5 weeks so far and they don't seem to be willing to give up on their quest for trivia domination. However, such can NOT be said for them at the Crossgates show on Thursday nights where they are getting hammered. See the blurb below for info on THAT happening. As for this show, the 'Vortex holds a commanding 45 point lead over "Phobics and Phobias" with 4 weeks remaining. However, the "Wacky Corner is only 6 points further back in third place with the once feared "J-Men" another wee 4 points behind them in 4th place. "Don't Know Jack" is holding onto 5th place (Zoe, you were missed) but, guess who is stalking them? OMG, yes, look out, here comes "KC". They have somehow managed to NOT be cellar dwellers and are currently fighting for the 5th place money position. You all know, of course, that 'KC is that team of loons (Karen, Cori, Kim.....) who relish in finishing in last place. Something has apparently gone very wrong this time. Good luck to all of you in week 6, tomorrow night.

LAST WEEK'S BLURBAGE

Well folks, this is it. Your Fall 2008 tournament here at Celis concludes this coming Thursday night and the "Stupid MOFOs" have a commanding 33 point lead in their quest to defend their Spring 2008 championship. News from the 'MOFOs: It appears as if the entire team will be entering some kind of therapy as they were terroized last week with the return of my brother James Thomas, Leadfoot's frontman, and the snorting Tracy. No not the wack-job Tracy (she is Matt's problem), the other silly blond (my brother's problem). The stunning Joyce had to hold the equally stunning Tracy(wait, did I actually just say all of that......money talks, thanks Tracy) back and prevent Tracy and Tracy from sitting together. They are so much alike it's NOT funny....snort, chuckle, snort. The real fun is taking place right behind them as the "Bar Ks" have moved into a tie for 2nd place overall with the characters from "R & R". Once again Karen and Jan are taking all of the credit. They might do even better if Jen and Shayna would show up. Hey you two, you are missed. The once intimidating geritol gang from "Out of the Vortex" has stumbled mightily and find themselves out of contention in 4th place, 47 points out of first. And, making matters even more interesting, "Crimson Tide" has managed, somehow, to keep themselves in the hunt for a money prize and they appear to have 5th place sewn up. I think the credit goes to daughter Elizabeth or else it is the fact that Jan really doesn't want another case of popcorn. Even the "Better Half", without the vivacious Sammy, has managed to keep hold of 6th place (once agian it's a youngin', the pretty AND bright Michelle) but the respirator gang from "Thorns and Roses" is lurking only 4 points behind them with one week to go. Jerry, John and Theresa kept them alive last week all by themselves and that team usually has about 53 people on it. "Just the 18th" had one of their best nights ever finishing 5th for the night. The three lovlies of Amy, Lindsey and Karen tried but they just didn't have enough. Hey, where were the rest of you. And now for the story of the week. It appears as if "Croma" has ONCE AGAIN, managed to keep that last place position that they covet so much in their hands. For the last 14 years of playing at various shows, "Croma" has proven to be the most consistent team. See all of you Thursday night for our finale. Reminder, please be as early as you can because the evening will extend longer than normal in order to distribute all of the prizes.

This is a beautiful and challenging 18-hole full service public golf course located just south of the Millersville University campus at Shenks Lane and Crossland Pass. Crossgates PGA Pro Scott Fritz is the guy to see. Call 872-4500 or visit the Pro-Shop for info on tee times, rates, lessons or bang a few buckets of balls on the driving range. Men's and Ladies locker rooms and showers are available. Crossgates is a non-metal spikes facility.
